Responsibilities:
Platform Engineering
- Build GPU training infrastructure using Kubernetes or bare-metal with Docker and Terraform
- Develop and maintain model registries (e.g., MLflow, ClearML)
- Automate model evaluation pipelines
- Github actions and automation
- Design GitHub Actions or Argo workflows for training and deployment
- Implement unit and integration tests, security scans, and software bill of materials (SBOM) using tools like Trivy
- Package models (e.g., Tritor or custom services) for constrained environments
- Manage updates and ARM64 cross-compilation for embedded devices
- Implement and maintain metrics/logging stack (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana)
- Monitor system performance, latency, and model drift
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field - equivalent experience is also welcome
- 5+ years experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles
- Strong experience with Kubernetes or Nomad, Docker Compose, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible)
- Proven success deploying models and AI/ML based applications in production environments
- Familiarity deploying to constrained edge devices (e.g., Jetson, Raspberry Pi, FPGA) (preferred)
- Master's degree in a related field (bonus)
- Familiarity with DoD RMF/STIG frameworks (preferred)

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer II to join our client 'onsite' in Houston TX.
This is not a hybrid or remote role. But Fridays are 1/2 days.
**This position is a 1-year contract position with the possibility to be hired directly with the client. Therefore: (1) Candidates must be eligible to permanently work in the US.
The Platform Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development and maturation of Azureand AWS tenants, subscriptions, landing zones, networking, security , and infrastructure through implementation of best practices and infrastructure as code (IaC). In addition to cloud development, supporting on-premise Kubernetes clusters is required .
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of experience, hands-on Azure and AWS technical skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities :
- Implement best practices in cloud infrastructure, emphasizing Site Reliability, Observability, and Scalability.
- Foster strong collaboration with various teams, working closely with Product, DBAs, Developers, DevOps, SRE, and Data Engineers to implement AWS standard methodologies , Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cost optimizations early in the design process.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, manage issues, and allocate support as necessary.
- Architect and implement technical solutions which improve the service level of the on-premise and cloud platform
- Perform incident investigation, diagnosis, and provide resolution
- Manage cluster provisioning, performance tuning, and security configuration
- Perform system monitoring and remediation of any platform related issue
- Identify recurring problems and perform root cause analysis
- Ensure continuous availability of data platform services.
- Document and maintain environment architecture
- Identify opportunities for platform improvements and present recommendations to management
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- 5 years' experience working with AWS and Azure infrastructure engineering & cloud architecture ( required )
- 3+ years' experience with IT automation using Terraform and Ansible automation (required)
- Experience in deploying and managing AWS Landing Zone, Control Tower, Guard rails etc. (required)
