Job Summary
The Plumbing Service Manager oversees the daily operations of Milam Plumbing’s Service Division. This role is responsible for managing staff, scheduling service calls, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and maintaining efficient workflows. The Service Manager will hire, train, and support technicians and administrative staff while fostering a positive, safety-focused workplace culture.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and develop administrative staff who support the Service Division.
- Recruit, hire, and oversee plumbing technicians providing services to customers.
- Manage daily schedules, dispatching, and workflow of division staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations in a timely, constructive manner.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and disciplinary action in accordance with company policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and professional communication with customers regarding service requests, estimates, and follow-ups.
- Oversee scheduling and dispatch to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Focus on identifying opportunities for growth of the service division and implement strategies for expansion.
- Develop and implement processes to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with leadership on budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, staff performance, and division metrics.
Required Skills and Abilities

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in plumbing service, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Valid plumbing license (preferred but not required depending on state regulations).
- Previous experience in a customer-facing service management role strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to visit job sites as needed, which may include standing, bending, and working in varied environments.

Plumbing Project Manager
We have an immediate need for a Project Manager in our Plumbing Division to oversee our plumbing projects in the Southeast region. This position will be based out of our Easley, SC office location.
The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience and a proven track record of successfully managing similar projects. This role requires excellent planning, scheduling, and management skills to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What You’ll Do:
Project Planning and Scheduling
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to establish project requirements and timelines.
- Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in project scope or unforeseen delays.
Field Management
- Oversee daily field operations to ensure work is progressing according to plan.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly to minimize disruptions and delays.
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of field workers, providing clear instructions and guidance.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan for upcoming tasks.
Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures and best practices.
- Conduct final inspections and ensure any deficiencies are corrected before project completion.
Client Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status.
- Address client concerns and requests promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Budget Management
- Monitor project budgets and control costs to ensure profitability.
- Approve expenditures and manage financial resources efficiently.
- Prepare and submit regular budget reports to senior management.
Safety Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings and training to promote a culture of safety on site.
- Respond to and investigate any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.
