Position Overview:
The Revit MEP Drafter supports our engineering teams in producing high-quality construction documents for mechanical (HVAC/plumbing) systems. Ideal candidates are comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative BIM environment.

POSITION TITLE: System-wide Plumbing Maintenance Technician
JOB SUMMARY: Responds to request for repairs, modifications, adjustments/calibrations, replacements and installations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance/service inspections, testing, and other similar specialized tasks as they relate to a variety of plumbing systems and equipment utilizing water, steam, natural gas, compressed air, hydraulics, electricity, refrigerants, chemicals, and gasoline /diesel fuels. Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, floor plans, schedules, codes and specifications as they relate to plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and specialized equipment and structures; assists other maintenance personnel in the performance of their duties
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school graduate or equivalent required. Approved accredited vocational/technical school preferred.
• Completion of a recognized four (4) year plumbing & gas fitting apprenticeship program is preferred
• Journeyman Plumber and Journeyman Gas Fitter Certifications from the State of Alabama (required).
• A minimum of four (4) years work experience in plumbing maintenance with similar facilities.
• Some Backflow prevention and/or HVAC knowledge is preferred.
• Valid driver license for the State of Alabama.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Including, but not limited to the following:
• All duties and responsibilities assigned to the position of Plumber and General System-wide Maintenance Worker
• Safely performs maintenance and repair work using appropriate skills, tools and materials.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities
• Uses and wears safety and/or protective equipment, as appropriate
• Maintains clean, safe working conditions and maintains knowledge of all facilities
• Reports all accidents, potential hazards, and maintenance problems to the Maintenance Supervisor immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible.
• Recommends to the Maintenance Supervisor when a more qualified specialist is needed.
• Maintains proper documentation of work, repairs, purchase orders, invoices, and warranties.
• Participates in training to increase /share knowledge of appropriate skills.
• Is subject to being called in to work in emergency situations.
• Exhibits an understanding of being a public employee and serving the public.
• Knows and follows Board policy of Homewood City Schools.
• Performs other duties or tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of duties to insure reliable, safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and/or systems in a specific area such as Carpentry, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, Machine work, Painting, Locksmithing, General Maintenance, or Utility Plant.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, and speaking.
- Occasional: carry 15-20 pounds, gripping of an object (tools, equipment and handles).
- Infrequent: sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching above and at shoulder level.
- Depending on area of assignment:
o Lift: occasional 15 to 20 pounds; and infrequent 21 to 45 pounds.
o Push/pull wheeled carts and equipment: infrequent up to 25 pounds of force.
- Heavy equipment, tools and machinery should be moved with additional assistance by other individuals and/or mechanical equipment, i.e. hoist, carts, and lifts.

- Academic background necessary to do calculations, cost estimates, give and receive instructions, and write reports.
- May require license or be capable of acquiring license depending area of assignment.
B. EXPERIENCE:
