About Us

Macallan Construction is full-service Atlanta based general contractor seeking a Construction Project Manager. Our client portfolio includes higher education, historic restorations, multi-family, senior living, municipal facilities, tenant build outs, community amenities and high-end custom homes.

About The Job

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of various projects, starting from assistance with pre-construction and estimating services through closeout documentation. As a member of our management staff, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating with all members of our team in delivery of projects you are responsible for. This position is dynamic and would involve managing internal support staff, subcontractor and vendor teams, in addition to leading the day-to-day communication with the Owner and Architect. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages multiple projects from early stages through completion.
  • Manage time effectively, multi-task and prioritize in order to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Build and manage project schedule to ensure timely completion of projects and setting expectations with subcontractors and field teams.
  • Review projects in depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with construction documents.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Manage tools, materials and equipment and track as needed.
  • Meet contractual obligations in terms of performance.
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
  • Ensures subcontractors follow quality control and safety methods and procedures.
  • Resolves problems on projects and with customers.
  • Actively participate in Value Engineering as needed to work with Owner's budget.
  • Studies drawings and specifications to identify subs to bid on projects, buyout projects that we are awarded and schedule project.
  • Actively participates in project meetings and bid reviews.
  • Manage project closeout and ensure client satisfaction with turnover process.
  • As with any small business, your day-to-day efforts may expand well beyond your primary responsibilities and we would expect you to assist wherever possible with needs as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent degree (required)
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience working in the construction industry
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Experience with critical path scheduling
  • AutoCAD experience highly desirable
  • Experience in working with multiple discipline projects
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of construction code, laws, regulations and standard
  • Knowledge in construction management principles, practices and methods, project management methods, workplace safety and budgeting
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Reading and understanding building plans, contracts, regulations and specs (preferred)
  • Must have meticulous attention to detail to ensure data quality standards
  • Must be able to maintain calendars and databases
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager to join our Resilience Water team in Middletown, CT to support our growing portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure planning, design and construction projects. In this role, you will lead and support accounts and project teams to deliver water and wastewater conveyance/treatment design & construction engineering projects. The ideal candidate must be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously, as well as providing technical expertise and experience on other related projects. About the Role

The Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing multiple projects of varying sizes in R&D, including planning and driving projects to successful conclusion by ensuring that the objectives and scope are well defined, resources are allocated appropriately, and project schedules are specified accurately. The role will organize and lead multifunctional teams, catalyze interdepartmental cooperation, and maintain high levels of teamwork in required activities ensuring completion of the program on schedule, within budget constraints, and with high quality.

  • Lead product development cross-functional project teams from concept to launch, fostering effective teamwork among project team members including both internal and external stakeholders where applicable.
  • Manage and mitigate the overall risk of projects through planning, prioritization, understanding of and communication of risk issues and critical tasks.
  • Provide regular updates to all stakeholders on project status, development progress, and project success.
  • Serve as a focal point for project resources, within area of project responsibility, to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate, resolving issues as needed and escalating as appropriate.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the products clinical purpose, important features, and technical challenges for assigned projects.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the projects regulatory and quality strategy, as well as a working knowledge of the prioritization of the projects within the company portfolio, and its delivery to the market.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, and costs to ensure all remain on track to the satisfaction of internal stakeholders, contract or vendor commitments.
  • Initiate and implement appropriate actions to proactively manage the change control process both internally and externally to meet financial performance targets.
  • Ensure completion of quality control and risk management project deliverables according to regulatory, clinical, and manufacturing standards and requirements.
  • Create and manage variance to published project plans.
  • Implement and monitor progress against design control requirements, and revise project plans as necessary per SOPs.
  • Ensure that all staff allocated to assigned projects adhere to timelines, professional standards, and SOPs, and escalate delays as necessary.
  • Aid in development and maintenance of key project performance indicators and ensure that the KPIs are within scope of the project contract.
  • Support continuous improvement of Engineering capabilities through optimizing processes or procedure steps within the scope of design control.
  • Manage project team resources.

To Excel, You Will Bring:

  • BS degree in Engineering, or other related field applicable to medical device development.
  • 8+ years of experience in product development.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical device or combination device development, engineering management, project management, and/or technical lead.
  • Experience with Design Controls and Medical Device Directive/Regulation.
  • Understanding of hardware and software development methodologies is a plus.
  • Startup experience is a plus.
  • High degree of problem-solving ability, with an understanding of objectives and processes across multi-disciplinary functions involved in medical device development.
  • Leadership and management skills demonstrated in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Understanding of FDA medical device guidance on Design Controls, MDD/MDR requirements.
  • Understanding of medical device development compliant to IEC60601, IEC62304, and ISO14971 standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cultivating effective collaborations between team members.
  • Ability to work conscientiously and with minimal direction, using good judgement, taking initiative to accomplish short and long-range projects, and recommend actions with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work as a team member, multi-task and be very flexible to adapt to the ever-changing work priorities and requirements of a dynamic, fast-growing company.
  • Proficient knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office Suite applications, SmartSheet, or other planning tools.
  • Excellent oral, and written communication skills and critical thinking skills.

Pay Range:

Compensation is determined based on a wide range of factors including location, job-related skills, experience, education, and training. Work scope will include operations excellence, continuous improvement projects and capacity expansion projects in support of commercial products. This role will work with project management and subject matter experts across multiple sites including Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, MS&T, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Process Development, CMC, TT lead, TCT lead, Global Engineering, Facilities Engineering, PMO, IT, EHS, Finance, Regulatory, and Clinical and Commercial Operations.

• Responsible for the preparation of routine status reports and communicate project progress to stakeholders
• Lead operational projects including weekly QC LIMS huddles, QC CTDO LIMS planning and management and monitoring tools
• Ensure that team recommendations related to project direction and timelines which need endorsement by governance teams are planned for review at appropriate milestones
• Promote a culture of collaboration, cooperation, execution excellence, effective communication, and cross-functional problem-solving to enable a high-performing team.
