This job provides direct care (including IV therapy) of assigned patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse.

Directs and assists ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties and interacts with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel. Demonstrates professional responsibilities and is responsible for own practice and assists other members of the healthcare team in providing the highest quality personalized patient care.

Nurses working in podiatry play a vital role in ensuring high-quality care delivery and smooth transitions from initial visit to surgery and back home. As RN, you will coordinate with other caregivers to communicate patient needs, educate patients about and improve patient access to critical treatments. In this role, you can help introduce more efficient and effective workflows to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

Caregivers in this role could start as early as 7:00am to as late as 5:00pm. Primary location is Main Campus, but could float to various locations with potential weekend/evenings.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.

• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments.

• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.

• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.

• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.

• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.

• Cover other nursing roles within the department.

• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing

The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and support staff to provide patient care including: telephone triage, insurance authorizations, recording of vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.), administration of immunizations, maintenance of exam rooms and filing.

The role of the Medical Assistant is to provide care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices. • Processes specimens for transport to laboratory, ensuring that specimens are properly labeled and appropriate orders have been placed

• Reviews and updates medication list and accurately documents knew allergies in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Demonstrates an understanding of prescription control and prescription refill procedures.
• Accurately documents allergies in EHR.
• Employs appropriate and timely use of Tasking in EHR.
• Appropriately enters orders and schedules appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders appropriately and in a timely manner in the PMS and EHR.
• Appropriately adheres to universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposal of medical waste.
• Maintains proficiency with department specific equipment, troubleshoot, and reports malfunctions promptly.
• Facilitates transition of care to UCC/Hospital.
• Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules.
