With a population of more than 77,000, Baytown, Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, just east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Primary responsibilities include supporting process & product deployments to site, providing technical leadership, and engaging within the global technology networks to provide sharings & implement learnings. This role can cover either polymerization and/or extrusion technologies."

**What you will do**
Improve Engineers (IEs) are Technology employees embedded in the Manufacturing (MFG) sites to provide technology support for the MFG organization. They have four primary responsibilities:
+ Lead site performance improvement activities to close gaps between best site performance and best-in-network performance
+ Support process & product technology deployments to the site
+ Provide technical leadership in mentoring, problem solving, & unit monitoring
+ Engage process networks to share learnings & best practices between sites
Per these basic responsibilities IEs are often key contributors to process efficiency improvements, capacity optimization activities, capital & expense project development, process & product plant trial programs, equipment & engineering change reviews, and incident investigations.
IEs are generally expected to dedicate at least a minority component of their time to base site support. The extent depends on the prioritized balance of site needs vs. technology commitments vs. individual development opportunities for the IE. The last distinction is important because certain base tasks assumed by an experienced IE may not be appropriate for their successor's career development objectives."

Position Summary:
Responsible for production and compliance assigned duties. This includes but is not limited to batch and process manufacturing, compliance responsibilities, inventory control, bulk material handling, and packaging.
Essential Functions:
- Works with Production Supervisors, Process Technicians, other Utility, and the Corporate Compliance Manager in the safe handling of the equipment and chemical intermediates in both storage and use in production
- Understand and demonstrate compliance with HMIS, SDS’s, HAZCOM, General Safety, HAZWASTE, LO/TO, PSM, PPE protocol, and proper housekeeping
- Management of Wastewater including monitor and reporting of tank volumes, compliant and effective loading of the outbound water trailers, sampling tanks and trailers, neutralization when necessary, and weight tickets for outbound trailers
- Management of Storm Water including monitor and reporting of storm water in containment areas and reporting to Corporate Compliance Manager, Sampling Storm Water and logging samples into laboratory, compliant and effective discharge of the Storm Water, and completing the cycle of required documentation including the Storm Water checklist back to Corporate Compliance Manager
- Housekeeping specific assigned areas and duties
- Maintain hazardous waste satellite and accumulations areas such that they are compliant with all regulations, including monitoring containment pallets and emptying via proper disposal when necessary as well as respective Satellite and Accumulation Area checklists for compliance.
