BAE System s is hiring a Supply Chain Manager to support the Manufacturing, Fabrication and commercial ship repair business. As the leader of BAE s Shipyard Supply Chain team, you will manage Supply Chain activities for business development, proposals, evaluation, planning, and implementation of tactics to ensure that material planning, material purchasing, and subcontracting activities related to assigned company programs and operations are accomplished within all prerequisites of cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance.
The department operations include supporting the on-time delivery of material and services to support program and operational needs. Customers include multiple US Government agencies and Commercial customers adding a level of variety to the daily routine and demanding a breadth of experience across these markets to ensure the organization s success.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Strategic Planning:
+ Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.
+ Integrates supplier strategies with program needs and supply base capabilities
+ Supplier Identification and management:
+ Identify and pursue new supply base to support new business opportunities.
+ Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and industry associations.

+ Leads the resolution of complex or strategic supply chain issues
+ Market Analysis:
+ Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape in procurement and supply chain services.

+ Oversee supply chain activities in support of the preparation and submission of proposals, ensuring suppliers, subcontractors and material meets the budget and technical requirements.
+ Drive proposal activities, interface with senior leadership, and ensure timely delivery of proposals to support the projects
+ Oversee supply chain proposal activities supporting the fabrication projects, ensuring compliance with RFP specifications and alignment with internal and external customer expectations
+ Develop and execute proposal risk mitigation plans and participate in fact-finding meetings to coordinate responses to RFPs
+ Compile and manage RFPs and bid packages to solicit and evaluate supplier proposalsMonitor supplier performance, track price trends, and inform procurement decisions
+ Compiling holistic subcontractor proposal packages to ensure compliance with RFP specifications
+ Serve as a liaison for collecting cost data, delivery schedules, and performance specifications

+ Monitor and analyze metrics including budgets, on time delivery, and supplier performance to ensure external partners are meeting business expectations

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience or equivalent experience of relevant supply chain, materials/program management, procurement, or purchasing experience
+ 5 or more years of experience as a team lead or managing of people
+ Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
+ Understanding on how to prepare a Basis of Estimate (BOE) for all proposals
+ Understanding of general procurement and purchasing lifecycles
+ Understanding of forecasting and planning with an emphasis on driving execution to need with an emphasis on working knowledge of Integrated Master Schedules

**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $105835 - $179920

About You

To provide administrative, research, and project support to company personnel involved in analyzing material performance, supplier capabilities, and unit costs. To train employees, organize, and assign work, and to maintain a productive and motivational climate. To analyze, plan, schedule and tracks orders to meet MRP generated demands. Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Minimizes assembly downtime and meet or exceed goals and objectives in regard to cost savings, quality, inventory management and assembly downtime.
• Provides regular training, instruction and guidance to include the departments proper supply chain procedures, strategies, and negotiations as well as engineering changes, use of blue prints, the MRP system, and PC systems.
• Analyzes, plans, releases, controls, reschedules and cancels orders based on material requirements in SAP with use of Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
• Maintains an adequate supply of materials to keep all production areas working, to meet spare parts requirements, and keeps obsolete and excess material inventory levels at a minimum.
• Coordinates and implements activities of inbound and outbound material flow between STIHL Group Subsidiaries.
• Communicates the production schedule with responsible production departments and performs direct labor planning for these departments.
• Monitors and evaluates production statistics and advises on performance standards.
• Evaluates established time standards in relation to actual performance and recommends action as needed.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels consistent with the ABC cost analysis.
• Selects the appropriate mode of transportation with external suppliers to meet production and spare parts requirements.
• Keeps premium transportation costs to a minimum.
• Initiates supplier bill-backs where supplier is the cause of shipping by premium transportation.
• Reviews capacity and develops a capacity report to identify time periods when capacity could impact productions ability to meet demand.
• Works with other departmental personnel such as Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to rectify defective or unacceptable goods and plan for the future.
• Maintains manual and computerized records and documentation pertaining to past activities, order specifications, supplier specifications, and performance histories and provides to management as needed. Responsible for planning the change overs for all Engineering changes.
• Maintains currency with respect to technical and professional skills by attending training classes, special technical and administrative courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
• Maintains positive relations with suppliers through thorough communication of STIHL philosophy, material requirements, and pricing objectives.
• Contacts suppliers regarding material problems, such as delayed receipt, poor quality, wrong items, etc., and resolves issues.
• Visits supplier locations to review and analyze operations, and checks quality, evaluating short-term and long-term abilities of suppliers to meet STIHL expectations and performs Logistics Audit.
• Works with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payment of satisfactory materials received and return/rework of materials that are defective.
• Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.

Specifications

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years related experience preferred. Performs work under minimal supervision.
• Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

**The Role**
This is an UNPAID internship through the Hire Vets Now (HVN) SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. What Youll Do

• Financial Reporting and Analysis: You will prepare, review, and distribute monthly financial reports for Smithfield Foods transportation and warehousing division, while continuously assessing financial status by comparing actual results against planned forecasts. Using insights from this analysis, youll recommend strategic actions, support special project teams, and develop ad-hoc reports to help guide key business decisions.
• Cost Management and Strategy: You will determine the cost of operations by setting standard costs and gathering key operational data across the supply chain. Leveraging this information, youll lead the cost analysis process by upholding financial policies, decoding performance trends, and proposing strategic solutions to drive efficiency and value.
• Accounting and Compliance: You will oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for designated functional areas, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. In this role, youll also uphold Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards and safeguard confidential financial information with the utmost discretion
• Systems and Tools Expertise: You will assist in crafting insightful management reports by leveraging your deep expertise in ERP systems, including SAP BI, SAP BPC, SAP General Ledger, and the companys transportation system. Your technical fluency will be key in translating complex data into clear, actionable financial intelligence.
