Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Closely monitor patients’ vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiration, to detect any complications early.
- Assess and manage pain levels, administer medications as needed to keep the patient comfortable.

- Continuously assess the patient’s level of consciousness, neurological status, and overall stability as they recover from anesthesia.

- Document all aspects of care provided, including medications administered, patient responses, and any interventions performed.
- Deliver post-operative discharge instructions to outpatients prior to discharge.
Education and Work Experience
- Current and valid state RN license.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) staffs various units throughout St. Charles Health System. These departments provide 24/7 specialized care to patients throughout their hospitalization and discharge.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA ) provides patient and family focused care as part of the health care team in accordance with the St. Charles Health System mission, philosophy, policies and procedures and within the parameters established by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Reviews and follows directions in the delivery of care of assigned patient(s) within their scope of duties.

As a PACU Nurse, you'll play a critical role in patient recovery from surgery, providing essential care and support. Partnering with the surgical and anesthesia team, you will manage airway support, monitor patient conditions closely, and respond to any complications or needs that arise. On-call availability is required during selected non-business hours.

- Access to staffing support from certified nursing assistants and an internal RN float pool as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-focused care while implementing evidence-based practices.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Utilize critical thinking and nursing competencies to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Perform thorough assessments, monitor patients, and document changes in condition and care.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Experience in critical care settings (ER, ICU, or PACU) preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire.
