The National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT ) at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoc Fellow. This is non-tenure track position will assist NCAT's lead research engineers in preparing externally funded research proposals and will assistNCAT graduate students in preparing and testing specimens in bothNCAT laboratory and other laboratories on Auburn's campus for ongoing research projects. Position will perform standard tests for asphalt binders and mixtures, manage and analyze test data, and prepare and proofread research reports and proposals. This position will be required to demonstrate a high level of safety awareness, dependability, and teamwork. The position is available for a minimum of one year as full-time 12-month appointments based on need, performance and funding, with renewal possible for a maximum of four years. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related field at the time employment begins. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and must continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The candidate must also demonstrate a strong and sustained record of research accomplishments in asphalt pavements and have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

**Summary:**
The postdoctoral fellow position is for early career scientist trainees who have finished graduate school and received their PhDs (or MDs, DVMs, etc.) to receive rigorous scientific postdoctoral training at Regeneron under the auspices of a scientist mentor. The program spans up to four years. Fellows will be expected to conduct creative mechanistic exploratory research that results in publication. Position Summary:
The Postdoctoral Fellow position focuses on research on neurodegenerative diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. The work investigates molecular pathways of degeneration and biomarkers, as well as pharmacological approaches to neuroprotection in cellular and animal models.
The work will include:
Biochemical Analyses: Investigating molecular pathways and biomarkers.
Cell Culture and Imaging: Utilizing cell and tissue imaging techniques to study mechanisms of neuronal dysfunction.
In Vivo Studies: Conducting research using mouse models to explore mechanisms of disease progression.
Experimental Procedures: Cell culture and analysis of metabolic and functional state; cell imaging; iPSC-derived brain cells; western blots; immunocytochemistry; immunohistochemistry; recombinant protein production and fractionation; gene expression/KD/KO. In vivo: performing treatments, biofluid sampling, behavioral/motor testing, euthanasia.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should have a PhD in the field of life sciences, including but not limited to neuroscience, biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology, or pharmacology.

+ Design and execute experiments/analyses; maintain rigorous documentation and data stewardship.
+ Mentor and train graduate and undergraduate students; foster an inclusive culture and lab environment.
+ Prepare manuscripts, present at conferences, and contribute to proposals.
Required
+ Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular/Cellular Biology, or a related field by start date.
+ Demonstrated expertise in at least one target area listed above, evidenced by publications, patents, and/or tool development.
+ Strong record of teamwork, communication, and research rigor.
Preferred
+ Prior experience setting up or running complex workflows (e.g., organoid platforms, rodent surgeries, high-throughput screening, ML pipelines, etc.).
