**Summary:**
The postdoctoral fellow position is for early career scientist trainees who have finished graduate school and received their PhDs (or MDs, DVMs, etc.) to receive rigorous scientific postdoctoral training at Regeneron under the auspices of a scientist mentor. The program spans up to four years. Fellows will be expected to conduct creative mechanistic exploratory research that results in publication. The program is academic in nature - the goal is to ask fundamental questions - not to work on Regeneron therapeutic agents.
**The program consists of:**

**As part of your Postdoctoral Training Program, you will:**
+ Conduct forward-looking and innovative research to address a novel scientific question of your choice with the guidance of a mentor.

+ Have the opportunity to assist with mentoring and guiding interns and other junior trainees.

We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral associates for a position to join a vibrant, interactive computational and experimental environment. The first position is in the Physical Activity Genomics, Epigenomics/transcriptomics Site (PAGES) of the NIH Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Consortium (MoTrPAC), to develop methods for the identification of molecular fingerprints of physical activity in humans and animal models.
The successful candidates will become key members of cutting edge interdisciplinary biomedical research teams, involved in many aspects of multi-omics data analysis and the development of methods for data integration. They will collaborate closely with the other program sites to coordinate analysis and data dissemination efforts.
The ideal candidates will have a strong research background, good quantitative and programming abilities, along with a demonstrated interest in applying these skills to problems in biology. Experience with NGS data and machine learning is preferred.

Position Summary:
The Postdoctoral Fellow position focuses on research on neurodegenerative diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. The work investigates molecular pathways of degeneration and biomarkers, as well as pharmacological approaches to neuroprotection in cellular and animal models.
The work will include:

Cell Culture and Imaging: Utilizing cell and tissue imaging techniques to study mechanisms of neuronal dysfunction.
In Vivo Studies: Conducting research using mouse models to explore mechanisms of disease progression.

The Cho Laboratory directed by Sangkyun Cho, PhD, at Johns Hopkins University seeks 1-2 postdoctoral fellows to lead research projects at the intersection of molecular/cellular biology, tissue engineering, and multi-omics, with an emphasis on fibrosis and precision therapeutics. We are especially interested in candidates who bring deep domain expertise in one or more of the following areas:
+ Stem cells, organoids, tissue engineering, and/or 3D bioprinting
+ Biomaterials for regenerative medicine and mechanobiology
+ CRISPR genome editing, CRISPRa/i
+ Animal work and rodent surgeries
+ Machine learning / artificial intelligence (using imaging or 'omics data)
Responsibilities:
+ Lead independent and collaborative projects; establish new capabilities for the group
+ Design and execute experiments/analyses; maintain rigorous documentation and data stewardship.
+ Mentor and train graduate and undergraduate students; foster an inclusive culture and lab environment.
+ Prepare manuscripts, present at conferences, and contribute to proposals.
Required
+ Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular/Cellular Biology, or a related field by start date.
+ Demonstrated expertise in at least one target area listed above, evidenced by publications, patents, and/or tool development.
+ Strong record of teamwork, communication, and research rigor.
Preferred
+ Prior experience setting up or running complex workflows (e.g., organoid platforms, rodent surgeries, high-throughput screening, ML pipelines, etc.).
+ Experience mentoring students and coordinating multi-lab collaborations.
+ Familiarity with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), cardiovascular physiology, and single-cell/spatial omics.
The Cho Lab is part of the Institute for NanoBioTechnology (INBT), home to a vibrant community of researchers working at the interface of engineering, biology, nanoscience, and medicine. Candidates will collaborate closely with experts across INBT and the broader Homewood Campus, as well as those at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Center for Microphysiological Systems (MPS).

**Job Description:**
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position and is not expected to be a permanent position.
**Essential Job Functions** :
-Plans, directs, and coordinates complex research experiments following general technical procedures under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
-Works with Principal Investigator to formulate research plans, coordinates project activities and establishes appropriate reporting procedures.
-Contributes to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.
-Prepares manuscripts, meeting presentations, and performs background literature searches.
-Makes modifications to research procedures in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
