Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow position available in X-ray Crystallography and Cryo-EM of Proteins Regulating Triglyceride Metabolism.
About Us: Join our dynamic research team dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of triglyceride metabolism. We are seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to lead cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and X-ray crystallography studies on proteins involved in the regulation of triglyceride metabolism. This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research with direct implications for metabolic health. The Birrane Lab is located at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in the Longwood area of Boston, Massachusetts. We have regular access to synchrotron beamlines (NSLS-II, APS) and state-of-the-art cryo-EM facilities at Harvard Medical School and MIT.
Position Overview: As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to understand the structural basis of proteins influencing triglyceride metabolism. will join the 'Materials Modeling And characTerization under Extreme Environments' team within the MST-8 group. The MATEE team focuses on the development and use of advanced computational mechanics models to predict the effects of extreme and complex environments on both mechanical response and microstructure evolution in materials. The MATEE team adopts both hierarchical and integrated multiscale modeling and characterization strategies for mechanical deformation problems in the Material Science and Technology division.

The CTA is a collaborative, cross-disciplinary community of over 50 staff, postdocs, and students from across LANL, focused on advancing astrophysics research and its connections to laboratory missions. Postdocs in the CTA use semi-analytical models, high-performance multi-physics simulations, data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence to tackle key problems across astrophysics.
