**Note: This is an onsite role based and can be based out of our offices in Conroe, TX. However, The Woodlands, Beaumont, and Cleveland, TX will also be considered. C andidates selected from outside of the area would need to relocate for this oppertuntity; Relocation assistance is not available for this posting. This position may be filled as a Safety Specialist I , II, III, or Senior depending on experience and demonstrated success at the Safety Specialist level.**
**Job Summary/Purpose**
All members of Entergy's safety function will be expected to own safety, work to prevent incidents and seek to improve with the understanding that zero harm is possible. This position is tasked with examining the workplace/worksite for environmental or physical factors that could affect employee and/or contract partner health, safety, comfort, and performance. Ensuring the workplace/worksite is as safe as possible is accomplished through conducting risk assessments, safety analyses, job site reviews, and coaching.
**Job Duties/Responsibilities**
+ Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of safety programs in accordance with management system elements.
+ Conduct training as necessary to ensure applicable rules, procedures, and expectations are understood.
+ Conduct engagements and observations with employees and contract partners providing immediate coaching on safe and unsafe conditions observed.
+ Conduct field and site inspections, document deficiencies, and develop sustainable solutions to prevent repeat findings.
+ Participate in the incident investigation process including root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions.
+ Reinforce safe work expectations in accordance with applicable laws, rules, procedures, and expectations.
+ Review safety related data and metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective actions to address any issues identified.
+ Stop work if there is any unsafe condition.
**Minimum Requirements**
**Minimum education required of the position**
+ Safety Specialist I: Any Level Degree Preferred
+ Safety Specialist II: Any Level Degree Preferred
+ Safety Specialist III: Bachelor Preferred
+ Safety Specialist, Senior: Bachelor Preferred
**Minimum experience required of the position**
+ Safety Specialist I: 0+ years work experience
+ Safety Specialist II: 2+ years industry and/or safety experience preferred
+ Safety Specialist III: 4+ years industry and/or safety experience preferred
+ Safety Specialist Senior: 6+ years industry and/or safety experience preferred
+ Highly Preferred: Experience as a lineman/lineworker working with utility transmission or distribution systems.
**Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position**
+ Working knowledge of construction and general industry safety regulations.
+ Ability to observe and engage with employees and contract partners.
+ Investigation/RCA with tools such as TapRoot, Cause Mapping, Fishbone, Five whys, etc.
+ Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends.
+ Ability to interact with customers and members of the public in a pleasant and tactful manner.
+ Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience as an environmental coordinator may be required. Environmental coordinators must be organized and pay close attention to detail, as well as work effectively in a team setting and on their own with minimal supervision.
- Interest in EHS function in a construction project setting or applicable, preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Experience setting up training programs.
- Familiarity with using computer and standard software.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, complete daily vehicle inspections, etc.
Responsible for keeping vehicles clean, maintained, and completing daily vehicle inspections prior to operating.
Responsible for keeping delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and monies collected secure at all times.
Pick up customer returns, i.e., new, warranty, cores, etc. and fill out driver return slip.
Communicate any problems or special needs from customers to store management.
Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or vehicle damage to store manager immediately.
Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock and secure vehicle at end of day's business.
Clock in/out according to company policy.
Other additional duties as assigned, including customer service, sweeping, general stocking and straightening stock, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, checking in and putting up stock orders, etc.
May occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, and/or help with merchandising tasks, when business dictates. (i.e.: phones, sales and service)
