**Job Description**
Danfoss Waynesboro, specializing in the design and manufacture of power panels, automation control solutions, and embedded microprocessor control products for equipment in the industrial refrigeration industry, has an opening for a **Power Engineer** . This role will be responsible for designing Power Panels for 460/575 Volt industrial applications. These panels incorporate Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Solid State "soft" starters, and Motor Control Centers. These panels are designed and manufactured in-house in an Engineer-To-Order (ETO) environment
This is an onsite position, at our AAIM Danfoss location in Waynesboro, PA.
**Job Responsibilities**
**Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:**
- Size and select electrical components for custom industrial-duty power panels
- Design and create the panel layout, schematic, and wiring diagrams in AutoCAD, for customer approval/record, and for use in our Manufacturing Operation on-site.
- Experience with cable/wiring practices and proper thermal management (ventilation, heating, and/or cooling inside the enclosure)
- Provide support to the Manufacturing operation in answering questions related to assembly, testing, or component selection/substitution
- Provide occasional support to customers for commissioning and troubleshooting, primarily remotely
- Assist Inside Sales with component selection and conceptual designs and assist in sales quotation preparation
- Act as liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing on continuous improvement activities in documentation (drawings and BOM's) and practices
**Background & Skills**
- Bachelor's degree (Electrical Engineerin or Mechatronics) or equivalent from an accredited college and 5+ years related experience
- Ability to create and read wiring and schematic diagrams, and panel layout diagrams
- Experience with, and solid comprehension of **UL508A/NEC Standards**
- Strong time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively in maintaining engineering project and production schedules
- Strong technical and analytical proficiency with the ability to multi-task effectively and thrive in a team environment
- Results-oriented and "hands-on" approach.
- Possess strong organizational skills, strong customer focus and orientation
- Excellent communication skills - orally & written
- Experience with PLC control systems and panel design is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the legacy products and contribute to the new R&D projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop system level testing and validation.

  • Proficiency with oscilloscope, supply sources, signal generators, and circuits.
  • Proficiency with component modeling using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink etc.
  • Deep expertise in power switches, such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, SCRs, SiC technology.
  • Ability to independently design, develop and test the circuit boards and systems.
  • Hands-on experience in validation, verification processes and qualify new, or alternate components.
  • Knowledge of 1-phase and 3-phase PFC Converter; 1-phase and 3-phase Inverter; DC-DC High Frequency Converter and Buck/Boost battery Charger/Discharger. Power rating is from 500 watt to 20 kW.
  • Design/test for EMI filter.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). distilling date and generating test reports and presentations.

**AECOM** is actively seeking to hire a **Traction Power Engineer** that is highly talented and hardworking as an addition to our growing team in the transit systems practice. **Typical duties and responsibilities;**
+ Will guide drafters/designers and less experienced engineers to prepare but not limited to single-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, emergency trip, grounding and lighting, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling, test plans, field tests, reports, analysis, and technical studies for traction power systems.
+ Will perform protective relay settings and coordination studies.
+ Will perform grounding design, load flow, harmonic, power flow, voltage drop, protective relay settings and coordination and arc flash studies using specialized software.
+ Will recommend appropriate actions to ensure compliance with all client, local, state, and federal regulations including AREMA railway standards, the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), the National Electric Safety Code (IEEE C2), and other applicable US standards.
+ Will develop systemwide duct bank drawings by working in close coordination with respective system disciplines. Assist and provide working information to CAD for BIM clash detection.
+ Provide value engineering on traction power systems.
+ Perform technical reviews of other team members' designs.
+ Interface with other technical disciplines such as communications systems, overhead catenary/3rd rail, electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, track and civil.
+ Work with Senior Traction Power Engineers

**Qualifications**

**AECOM** is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic **Traction Power Engineer** to join our team. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, analysis of DC or AC traction power systems for railways, light rail transit (LRT), or other electrified transportation networks. + Assist senior engineers in the design and analysis of traction power distribution systems, including substations, overhead catenary systems (OCS), and third rail systems.
+ Support the development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
+ Perform calculations related to voltage drop, current flow, and power system performance.
+ Assist in the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
+ Conduct field inspections and site visits to gather data and observe construction activities.
+ Assist in the testing and commissioning of traction power equipment.
+ Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
+ Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders
