In the Energy Technologies software team we are looking for a talented and versatile Software Engineer to develop and build intelligent adaptive power management solutions to meet the challenges in Apple's battery operated mobile systems. Description

Work multi-functionally with system architects, electrical engineers, battery engineers, system software engineers, and other functional software engineering teams. Develop new system power management algorithms under tight battery power delivery constraints. Modeling of telemetry data for the purpose of predicting patterns. Explore novel battery management solutions based on actual battery modeling and characterization. Design, implement and optimize system software and embedded firmware. Demonstrate and explain cross functionally system power/performance trade-offs. Influence hardware design specifications of future platforms to deliver a roadmap of innovative software solutions to very challenging battery mechanism system problems. Protect end-to-end confidentiality.

An ideal candidate will be eager to learn from history and be curious about all related fields, such as control theory, battery charging, thermals, and performance. In this role, you will enhance and develop battery management solutions. This is a unique and highly visible role that will be at the center of design, development, and productization of software, implementing control systems, battery management, and other related efforts, working closely with multiple teams such as battery management, platform architecture, hardware systems and many other software teams. The goal will be to allow the system to operate at optimal performance under tight power delivery constraints, and without compromising battery life. Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of C / C++ / equivalent systems software programming languages and popular scripting languages.

• Strong system software development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,300 and $210,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

As a Software Engineer on the Frontier Clusters team focused on power management, you will work on critical infrastructure to support cutting-edge research. With large-scale supercomputers consuming substantial amounts of power, managing this efficiently is key to maximizing computational capacity. This role is critical to ensuring that our cutting-edge research supercomputing infrastructure runs smoothly, while maintaining reliability and grid-level power stability.

Our team empowers strong engineers with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, as well as ability to effect change. This role will require a keen focus on system-level comprehensive investigations and the development of automated solutions. We want people who go deep on problems, investigate as thoroughly as possible, and build automation for detection and remediation at scale.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement system-level and software-level solutions to optimize power usage in large-scale supercomputers, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.

• Build automation to monitor power consumption patterns during training workloads and design algorithms to stabilize these fluctuations, preventing issues with grid reliability.

• Work with researchers and engineers to design tools for real-time monitoring, detection, and remediation of power-related hardware and system faults.

In this position you will:
+ Effectively leverage and engage Eaton's enterprise wide resources to coordinate and grow sales of Eaton Digital & Cybersecurity services solutions by driving specifications and solutions to Eaton's benefit at specifying and procurement levels within targeted segments and customers.
+ Facilitate the integration of Eaton specifications, products and services into targeted data center, commercial (institutions), government, commercial (buildings) and industrial end users, consultants, EPCs, or systems integrators
+ Develop and execute a territory sales strategy plan. Ensure a strong opportunity pipeline to support growth in the region
+ Manage large accounts, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain strong, long-term client partnerships
+ Partner with other internal & external digital offerings to enable turnkey options in line with the integration, startup & commissioning capabilities offered by DIS.
+ Act as the single point of contact (POC) for all commercial issues related to Dital Integration Solutions within the region. Lead the development of proposals by working closely with the internal negotiation application specialist teams, extended sales teams and customers.
+ Conduct training seminars with end customers in targeted segments, distributors and internal sales teams to ensure clear communication of features and benefits.
+ Provide VOC feedback to the product line regarding product development, sales tools, marketing collateral and campaigns.
+ Work with targeted customers/accounts to develop a deeper relationship with the customer at all levels using standard Eaton account management strategies.
+ Support NAS/Service sales teams with monthly orders forecast for DIS product line.
**Qualifications:**
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or business related focus from an accredited institution.
+ Minimum of 5 years of work in a commercial role or similar function.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
+ Must posess and maintain an active and valid drivers license
+ Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the work locations listed. No relocation will be offered for this role. Active duty military candidates are exempt from this requirement.

+ MSEE or MBA
+ Professional Engineer certification
+ Prior experience working with Digital monitoring, Automation, Communications
