**Job Description Summary**
In this role, you will work in a team environment to perform inspections, troubleshoot, and repair of aircraft and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) of engines and all associated systems using, safe, cost-effective maintenance procedures. In addition, you will assist in aircraft, pylon and test engine modifications on Boeing 747-400 flying test bed.
**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities**
+ Perform maintenance & modifications on Boeing 747- 400 flying test bed
+ Jet engine module removal & installation, including performing various machining and repair operations, using hand tools, specialized tools, equipment and fixtures
+ Perform sheet metal repair
+ Complete all documentation in a neat and proficient manner according to company policies and procedures, as well as per FAR 145 requirements
+ Install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair test engine and pylon
+ Lay out installation of assemblies / systems in aircraft, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams
+ Be able to understand and use maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, component overhaul manuals, engine manuals, service bulletins and airworthiness directives.
+ Troubleshoot and perform aircraft system tests.
+ Perform the highest quality of work consistently.
+ Ability to fill out, parts tags, logbook, engineering log, component change log, routine and non-routine task cards and part requisitions correctly and with attention to detail.
+ Knowledgeable in environmental safety policies and procedures.
+ Operate cherry pickers, man lifts, and forklifts.
+ Perform any other task as assigned by the Flightline Manager or Lead Technician
+ Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours (including 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, nights, weekends, and holidays) when business needs dictate
+ Ability and willingness to travel to and support operations at offsite locations when business needs dictate. Travel at times may be up to 50 percent.
+ Ability and willingness to fly aboard an experimental aircraft including participation in development flight tests.
+ Ability to meet all requirements of Zero Tolerance DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. (14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40).
+ Ability and willingness to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels
+ Capability and willingness of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds (with or without assistance)
+ Ability and willingness to travel to remote locations
+ Able to work at heights up to 80 feet
**Qualifications/Requirements**
+ High School Diploma / GED
+ Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
+ Minimum 4 years of related experience

The base pay range for this position is $80.000 - $105,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. The Brandon Shores Plant is a fully scrubbed coal-fired generating station. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Primary Purpose & Summary:
The Plant Technician-Fuel operates and maintains various types of fuel handling equipment associated with the unloading and reclaiming of fuel and the disposal of coal combustion products. Equipment maintained and operated may include barge unloaders, stacker/reclaimer, bulldozers, conveyor belts and associated auxiliary equipment. Additionally, operates and maintains various types of coal combustion by-products (CCB's) such as fly ash, bottom ash and gypsum unloading equipment. Maintaining of equipment includes inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical system problems or if problems are complex, seeks/recommends additional resources.
Responsibilities:
1. Performs the safe and efficient operation of fuel handling equipment, such as bulldozers and loaders, unloading and reclaiming conveyor systems, barge unloaders, and stacker/reclaimers.
2. Performs maintenance on all the various types of fuel handling and CCB equipment associated with the unloading and reclaiming of fuel and the disposal of coal combustion products by:
- Visually inspecting equipment for stress and wear
- Changing fluids and parts as necessary and required
- Testing operations as necessary and required
- Initiating orders for regular equipment services and ensuring service is appropriately completed
3. Performs minor mechanical or electrical repair or modifications on equipment or initiates requests for specialized internal or external resources to perform necessary and required repairs or modifications.
4. May work in baghouse compartments making bag replacements and minor repairs as well as tensioning of bags.
5. May perform other fuel handling duties, as needed.
6. Performs all duties in compliance with the company's safety and environmental programs.
Skills/Competencies:
1. Ability to work with bulk materials such as coal, dirt, ash, gravel and coal combustion products.
2. Ability to effectively work as a team member and communicate orally and in writing.
Education & Experience Required:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the safe operation of fuel handling equipment, associated with the unloading and reclaiming of fuel and the disposal of coal combustion products.
2. Previous experience or working knowledge in mechanical and electrical maintenance, repair or mechanical modifications as it relates to fuel yard handling equipment.
3. Experience in an industrial environment, with a willingness to take initiative and has an understanding of the value of multi-tasking, teamwork, flexibility, and stewardship.
4. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word.
Licenses/Certifications Required:
1. Hold and maintain a valid driver's license that meets company standards.
2. Ability to effectively meet respirator qualifications.
3. Satisfactory results with respect to the background investigation pursuant to the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) requirements, if applicable.

Provides safety and environmental stewardship. Operates, performs regular preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, tests, and makes rounds taking regular readings on all power plant equipment and systems. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and plant procedures. Keeps all equipment in optimum operating condition.

Work requires 12 hour rotating shift work schedule, including holidays, weekends in addition to overtime and possible call-ins. This is a multi-skilled position requiring the development of knowledge and skills in the Plant Operator Qualifications Training Program, as well as development of basic knowledge of plant maintenance (mechanical, electrical, and instrument & controls).
Responsibilities:
1. Ensures that appropriate safety procedures are followed.
2. Operates, performs regular preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, tests, and makes rounds taking regular readings as required to maximize asset value.
3. Performs preventive maintenance tasks and records preventive maintenance activities.
4. Assists in training and development of other employees in performing preventive maintenance and routine equipment service activities. Practices situational leadership, safety, and environmental stewardship.
5. Assists with equipment or system problem identification and recommends solutions.
6. Assists with developing/modifying operating procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
7. Assists in requisitioning parts and supplies.
8. Performs other duties as required.
Skills/Competencies:
1. Performs job duties safely and adheres to all safety, environmental, and NERC compliance requirements.
2. Maintains qualifications as an Emergency Response Team Member and completes all required Safety Annual Requalification Training.
3. Demonstrated ability to complete job assignments in a setting that requires teamwork, as well as independent decision making (independently perform Watch Station Rounds).
4. Solid communication skills, both verbal and written (clear communications using a walkie-talkie).

1. Minimum of vocational training/mechanical experience. Preferred (5) years' experience in a power plant,

3. High School graduate/Vocational training and/or some experience in industrial Operations, Mechanical, or Electrical, including pumps, valves, motors, machinery mechanics and electrical and control theory.
Licenses/Certifications Required:
1. Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet Company driving standards.
2. Stationary Engineers License is preferred for experienced candidates.
