Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Transit Practice Leader to expand our Transit practice in San Diego, California (CA)!
**Responsibilities**

**Qualifications**
+ A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience and professional registration (P.E.) in California preferred
+ 15+ years of diversified experience in growing and leading a Transit practice in the San Diego market
+ Business development and marketing experience, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work
+ Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems, and working with the team to deliver
+ Excellent knowledge of transit operations and best practices
+ Good communicator, particularly with key internal niche partners such as building structures, drainage, roadway, and MEP partners
+ Experience with specifications and detailed cost estimates

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a **Dams Practice Leader** in our West Region Water Business Line. This senior-level position will ideally be based in **Southern California** including, but not limited to: Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego. This senior level position will ideally be based in Southern California, but we are open to other locations in California for the right candidate.

From feasibility studies to design, construction, and maintenance, we cover every aspect of the process, ensuring the longevity and safety of critical water infrastructure. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
+ Dams practice and business development lead with region.
+ Serve as a program manager, project manager, or technical lead, directing teams on major dams and hydropower projects and programs. Lead multi-disciplinary teams to the successful completion of the project, focusing on client communication and delivery.
+ Lead the pursuit of major dam and hydropower projects in Southern California leading major proposals, and engaging with clients.
+ Support senior leaders in the development of business strategies for dams and hydropower in these regions based on market trends and identify and pursue opportunities within the business line and adjacent sectors.
+ Lead client-facing activities to develop business with existing clients and win work with new clients, build strong relationships with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders related to the market sector.
+ Develop strategies and capture plans for major pursuits, aligning with AECOM's business development strategies and technical capabilities. Coordinate project opportunities with the Dams & Hydropower Division Manager and Growth Lead, and senior project managers within the Water Business Line.
+ Maintain regular interaction with clients to ensure satisfaction with AECOM services and engage with project delivery personnel to proactively address client feedback on team performance.
+ Coordinate with AECOM's Technical Practice Leads and Division Managers to match team skills with market trends and drive strategic technical leadership hires.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements** :
+ Bachelor's Degree + 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's (MS) or Doctorate (PhD) in Engineering. Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, or a related field is preferred.
+ Extensive and proven knowledge of dams and hydropower markets, trends, and clients.
+ 15+ years dams and hydropower industry technical and leadership experience.

This role will focus on expanding our presence in the data center market through our specialized expertise in fire protection engineering, life safety, code consulting, risk analysis, commissioning, and other critical services.
The ideal candidate understands the engineering consultant's position in the project delivery ecosystem and brings a strong network within hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center markets.
**Responsibilities:**
+ **Strategic Market Development**
+ Identify opportunities where Jensen Hughes can serve as a high-value subcontractor for design firms, prime consultants, and construction managers delivering data center projects.
+ Position our niche capabilities, such as fire protection design and code consulting as must have services for mission critical facilities.
+ **Client and Partner Engagement**
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, A/E firms, owner's reps, and hyperscale providers.
+ Proactively identify teaming opportunities where Jensen Hughes can be brought in early as part of an integrated delivery approach.
+ **Sales and Opportunity Management**
+ Lead pursuit efforts including teaming discussions, proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiation.
+ Maintain a high-quality pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress through CRM and internal tools.

**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Construction or a related field; MBA or related business degree is a plus.
+ 8+ years of experience in business development or client service in the AEC or engineering consulting space, with at least 5 years focused on mission critical/data center environments.
+ Experience securing work with large-scale project teams, particularly in the design or construction phases of data center builds.
+ Strong technical fluency in fire protection, life safety, commissioning, and regulatory compliance in mission critical settings.
+ Demonstrated success in cultivating relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, GCs, and A/E firms.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
