The Pre-Press Associate is responsible for preparing digital files and artwork for print production, ensuring accuracy and quality before printing. This role collaborates with production staff, and our Client Services department to troubleshoot, adjust, and finalize files to meet project specifications and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
> File Preparation: Review, edit, and prepare digital files for various print processes (offset, digital, wide format, etc.).
> Control: Check for resolution, color accuracy, bleed, and layout issues; perform pre-flight checks.
> Proofing: Generate and review proofs for client approval; make necessary corrections.
> Troubleshooting: Resolve file errors and technical issues related to fonts, images, and compatibility.
> Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and customer service teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
Qualifications:
> Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other pre-press software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The Wilmington GPS group is looking for a part-time Press/Machine Operator to assist with daily production on our Goss HO presses. We seek a highly motivated individual to work in our fast-paced manufacturing operation. The work includes preparing the presses for production, operating the presses or any of their components, cleaning the presses and the pressroom, maintaining the mechanical readiness of the presses, and other duties as assigned. Every member of the pressroom staff constantly strives to achieve the following goals, and the contribution of every press operator is necessary for success:
- Optimum quality of printed products.
- Observance of all scheduled start and stop times.
- Conservation of material resources, especially newsprint.
- A clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
- This position requires a high school education or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in web offset printing is desirable, although production experience of any kind may be helpful. Mechanical ability and familiarity with computers are preferred.
- Candidates should have the ability to adapt to change, prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, remain flexible and interact with people while demonstrating patience. You must be able to lift/carry up to 100 pounds and can push/pull up to 2000 pounds. A press operator spends most hours working on his/her feet. In addition to long periods of standing, a press operator is required to climb stairs on the six-level press structure. Operators engaged in press maintenance and some cleaning activities will be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. They often work in confined areas. Color vision is required.
This position is part-time shift work, which may include scheduled nights and weekends.

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for reviewing part drawings and setting up and operating 1 of 6 brake press machines. Entering in bend dimensions and bend deductions based on the different gages of sheet metal. A strong candidate will have good math skills having the ability to convert inches into decimals (for example: 3 " = 3.25") and having the ability to visualize a 3-dimensional part prior to bending a flat shape, similar to seeing a paper airplane in your head before folding the paper.
