**Position Overview**
The Manager, Transfer Pricing reports to Sr Manager, Transfer Pricing and is responsible for the application of global transfer pricing policy and governance of the Company. We are committed to providing a technology infrastructure to enable tools and resources for process optimization. **What You'll Do**
+ This role is principally responsible for the application of global transfer pricing policy, completion and review of transfer pricing documentation, oversight of operational transfer pricing results, and act as transfer pricing advisor to parts of the Company with little to no tax specialization. The Company's operating structure is decentralized with several finance organizations and multiple ERP systems. For this reason, effective collaboration with the tax technology team and the local finance teams are required to ensure accurate and timely data is available. Conduct data analysis and perform economic and financial modeling to assist with corporate projects and fulfill international transfer pricing reporting obligations.
**Your role includes the following:**
+ **Technical Resource:** This role is expected to have expertise equivalent to the job title in U.S. transfer pricing statute, regulations, and relevant court cases; the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and Tax Administrations, OECD's Base Erosion and Profit Shifting 1.0 and 2.0 initiatives, and Country by Country Reporting requirements; transfer pricing documentation requirements, and experience with operational transfer pricing ( _e.g._ , creating segmented P&Ls, calculating TP adjustments). For all other countries, using a network of advisors, the role must monitor proposed and newly enacted legislation, regulations, rulings, and court cases which may impact to the global transfer pricing policy of the Company.
+ **Collaborative Planning:** Collaboration with the global tax organization, corporate finance and accounting, local controllers, and global trade to address multi-faceted impacts from business changes or tax planning **.**
+ **Annual Documentation / Valuation:** Facilitate fact-gathering and preparation of transfer pricing documentation and legal entity valuations by external advisors. Be an active participant in the process to develop an expert understanding of the global operations in the Company. Review with local controllers the facts presented in documentation to ensure alignment with the facts of the business.
+ **Operational Transfer Pricing:** Apply the global transfer pricing policy of the company, which requires periodic review to modify or update as needed to remain in global compliance. Ensure intercompany agreements, transaction flows, transaction types, and ERP prices are consistent with policy and are supportable under audit. This role will assist in the design of processes and Excel workbooks required for the business to prepare quarterly transfer pricing segmented P&Ls to test the separate functions within a single legal entity. To the extent transfer pricing has not remained within policy, co-ordinate with the local finance, global customs/trade, and global tax organization to ensure appropriate TP adjustments are implemented and booked.
+ **US GAAP Provision and various foreign tax return support:** Prepare support for intercompany transaction volumes as required by various regional jurisdictions such as Canadian T106/T1134. Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes, including ASC740 reserve analysis and assist with TP forecast reviews.
+ **Process Optimization:** Drive standardization and automation for forecasted segmented P&Ls, data gathering for TP documentation, and use of Workiva for generating TP documentation reports. Ensure alignment with tax reporting processes and broader finance technology strategies.
+ **Tax Audits:** Support tax controversy and audit management of transfer pricing inquiries.
+ **Organizational Stakeholders:** Develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the corporate organization, including those responsible for financial reporting and forecasting.

**Qualifications & Certifications**
+ Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, economics, accounting or related field
+ Advanced degree or certification such as CPA, CFA or MBA, preferred
+ 5+ years of progressive corporate or public accounting experience in income tax, including progressive experience in transfer pricing for multi-national corporations.
**Skills & Competencies**
+ Experience with tax software (e.g., Corptax), MSFT Office Suite, efficiency tools (e.g., Power BI Platform, Alteryx), and tools for consolidation and reporting (e.g., OneStream, Workiva).
+ Knowledge of overall workflow of accounting within ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
+ Demonstrated ability to work with large sets of data from decentralized sources and using technology tools for data analysis and scenario planning.
+ Demonstrated ability to translate complex transfer pricing concepts into actionable strategies.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of relevant U.S. international income tax issues required for the ability to explain both U.S. international income tax issues and transfer pricing relevant for cross-border transactions.
+ A strong understanding of international statutory accounts and income tax adjustments will be highly valued.
+ Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with external advisors and finance teams throughout the organization.

Overall Job Summary

  • Analyze sales and margin performance and interpret customer and competitor behavior to provide guidance and recommendations for strategic pricing at the SKU, category, department, and Buying Team level across assigned categories, channels and sales types. Leverage competitive price information and market basket analysis to formulate price recommendations. Includes forecasts of changes in sales, margin, and unit performance with pricing recommendations.

  • Determine and recommend optimal, progressive clearance markdowns with consideration of clearance markdown strategy, budget and timing to VP/DMMs and Buying Teams. Includes forecasts of changes in sales, margin, and unit demand with markdown recommendations.

  • Enter and execute price changes into SAP, Price Optimization software and other systems.

  • Develop and maintain analysis for use in monitoring and reviewing SKU, category, department, and Buying Team level financial results compared to budget and LY across all sales types. Identifies trends and leverages analysis to formulate future plans and forecasts.

  • Examine and analyze the impact and implication of cost as a driver of price. Integrates with Buying teams and other functional departments, becoming the subject matter expert on price and cost in assigned categories, channels and sales types.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, category management, merchandise planning, or other retail/business analytics required, with 1-3 years of pricing management or optimization experience preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree required. MBA or other advanced degree in a related field (Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Business, Marketing, Economics, or the equivalent) strongly preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Reporting to the Data Operations Lead in the DuPont Water Solutions business, the Data Analysis Intern will be responsible for evaluating data integrity to support the business functions. DWS has multiple sources for its databases and conflicts must be researched and resolved. The intern will work in Microsoft Excel identifying errors or missing data, leverage AI and other sources of information to resolve the errors and propose solutions. The intern will be able to meet with members of our DWS cross functional teams and learn how we use our data in day-to-day and long-term decision making (supply chain, product management, marketing, strategy, finance).

Some possible work assignments might be:

  • Using AI and web searches to identify “Customer Groups” within our global customer list (i.e. companies with the same parent corporation)

  • Comparing related datasets from different systems to find and fix discrepancies

  • Automating data cleaning and data manipulation tasks using Power Query (functionality within Excel)

Role Requirements

  • High school senior

  • Interest in learning Microsoft Excel and working with AI platforms.

  • Interest in data analysis and best practices for data management

  • Highly motivated and results-driven student willing to learn

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work in the office as needed

Job Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of machine learning, data annotation, quality assurance, and natural language processing. They will play a pivotal role in updating our machine learning models and ensuring their efficacy.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Learning Model Updates:

  • Update training and test model databases with new or amended synthetic textual and image data.
  • Modify and refine machine learning data creation, annotation, and rating guidelines.
Model Training and Evaluation:
  • Initiate model training processes using internal tools and command-line interfaces.
  • Evaluate the performance of trained models to gauge their efficacy and readiness for deployment.
Data Management and Annotation:
  • Design and develop test and training datasets as per the criteria provided by the project manager and other full-time employees.
  • Handle data efficiently, ensuring its integrity throughout the workflow.
  • Engage in data relevance tasks, ensuring data sets are aligned with project goals.
  • Annotate data accurately, ensuring it adheres to set guidelines.
Quality Assurance and Analysis:
  • Conduct manual quality analysis of model results.
  • Recognize error patterns and report anomalies for further investigation.
  • Deliver detailed reports on findings, including aspects such as utterance quality, LLM evaluation, ASR bug tracking, and customer pain points to be reviewed by the User Experience Research team.
  • Implement basic quality control measures and ensure the reliability of processed data.
  • Utilize intermediate data analysis techniques to extract insights and inform decision-making.
  • Arbitrate discrepancies effectively, ensuring consistent data quality.
Linguistic and NLP Tasks:
  • Apply basic knowledge of natural language processing and linguistics to data processing tasks.
  • Ensure linguistic accuracy in all processed and annotated data.
REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics or Computational Linguistics or a related field.
Experience:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with command-line tools and interfaces.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and anomalies.


Additional Information:

This role primarily focuses on English US data sets; however, familiarity with translation or multi-lingual data sets can be a plus for future projects.
