+ Track and report on privacy review metrics and mailbox trends to identify areas for process improvement and training.

**Experience.** You have 3+ years of experience in relevant regulatory compliance skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.
**TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:**
+ 3+ years of enterprise-level regulatory compliance-related experience in privacy, data protection, contracts, or similar, preferably in a global environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

The Data Privacy Compliance team works closely with our Legal counterparts, business and engineering stakeholders to ensure compliance with current/developing rules and regulations, implement global training and communication programs and monitor privacy risk across the business. Our team also leads privacy product reviews and Data Privacy Impact Assessments, manages responses to data subject rights requests, drafts internal policies and coordinates regional privacy-related regulatory filings.

**We'll Trust You To:**
- Support the implementation of the Privacy Program, ensuring Bloomberg meets its legal, regulatory, and reputational responsibilities
- Support, and at times lead the team, on specific regulatory Compliance projects /initiatives for privacy, for example, the mapping of applicable regulatory obligations to risks, controls, controls testing and policy documents
- Provide strong subject matter expertise to the privacy program, including being the lead for certain program pillars;
- Support the team in partnering with the business and support functions to conduct analyses of the key personal data processing of their areas, including documentation of data flows, processes and procedures;
- Provide expert knowledge on identification of risks and controls to address privacy requirements and translate them into guidelines to improve business compliance;
- Collaborate with the Privacy Legal team to translate legal requirements into privacy program deliverables and processes;
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for privacy compliance processes in support of our privacy strategy;
- Develop and leverage key performance indicators to track, manage, measure and report on metrics across the organization related to key privacy and compliance trends; and
- Implement appropriate data privacy compliance controls and tools, including working with compliance technology support and other internal functions to make improvements to systems and workflows and address any gaps identified.
**You'll need to have:**
- Minimum 7 years of data privacy Compliance and/or legal experience in-house, at a privacy regulator, a law firm, and/or in the government;
- Substantial subject matter expertise in data privacy laws, rules, regulations, and industry standards, including sound working knowledge of EU GDPR and US state privacy laws as well as expertise in managing privacy risk and compliance;
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in identifying, assessing and calling out risk (across different functions and levels of the business);
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment in cross-functional teams, prioritize and meet deadlines;
- An ability to advise and influence senior business people on data privacy matters;
- Strong stakeholder management experience and skills to collaborate effectively with security and risk professionals, engineers, software developers, product development, Human Resources, and other teams;
- Strong communication skills and belief in the effective management of privacy as a key business differentiator and core value;
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills and the ability to thrive in an open office environment and as part of a fast-paced team; and
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Description

You will work across Apple Pay product lines and participate in discussions on the technical design and implementation of the new requirements in privacy including GDPR. In collaboration with technical experts in their products and Apple’s legal counsel, you will analyze existing systems and processes against the privacy including GDPR requirements and architect changes when needed to improve compliance with the Regulation.

PARTICULAR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Review the engineering design for new products/features to ensure privacy by design
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA’s) for projects and products
  • Recommend controls required to mitigate privacy risks found in assessments during engineering design, implementation, and production support
  • Establish continuous monitoring for effectively tracking and managing security and privacy controls
  • Support and enable security and privacy awareness training program(s)
  • Contribute to: privacy control governance, policy and procedure, and technical security controls supporting privacy objectives
  • Identify and execute upon opportunities improve our ability to measure and report on risk management
  • Effectively integrates compliance risk/context and technical knowledge to address complex problems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experienced in user privacy and software programming

  • 5+ years assessing project and product privacy risks and recommending mitigating controls

  • 5+ years of privacy framework experience (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)

  • 5+ years creating privacy assessment templates and coordinating privacy assessments with project and product teams

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multifaceted environment and work on multiple unrelated topics in any given week

  • Ability to develop relationships and work effectively with different teams at all levels and across functions relative to technical, policy, and business concerns

  • Familiarity with security and privacy standards such as SOC, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act etc.

The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) Security and Privacy Compliance team is expanding, and we are looking for a Privacy Compliance engineer with strong knowledge of privacy regulations and standards, technical curiosity and strong understanding of project and product management cycles.

Description

In this role you will,

  • Collaborate with legal and privacy teams across Apple regarding applicable Privacy laws, regulations and policies.
  • Participate in the development of new Apple policies and implement relevant processes and procedures
  • Assess ASE infrastructure and applications against new Privacy laws, regulations and policies.
  • Identify gaps and develop remediation plan to comply with Privacy laws, regulations and policies.
  • Translate Legal requirements into implementation requirements and collaborate with engineering teams around the implementation

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in privacy compliance and/or privacy engineering role

  • Excellent understanding of GDPR and CCPA regulations and standards

  • Proficiency in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures

  • Experience conducting compliance assessments, audits, and risk assessments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor in compliance, data privacy management, business administration or legal studies

  • Strong organizational management skills

This position oversees and manages Emory University's Privacy Compliance Program. Under the supervision of the Chief Compliance Officer, oversees and manages Emory University's privacy compliance program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ The program addresses compliance with federal, state, local, and international laws and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of information and data.
+ Takes the lead in identifying and prioritizing privacy and security risks and develops compliance initiatives to address these issues.
KEY DUTIES:
+ Maintains primary oversight of University's program for compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR, and other federal, state, and international laws and University policies regarding information privacy and security, including retaining and reporting on metrics.
+ Oversees process for receiving, tracking, investigating, resolving, and reporting on privacy incidents involving University privacy matters in coordination with key stakeholders such as the Office of Information Technology and the Office of the General Counsel, and appropriately coordinates with outside counsel when needed.
+ Assesses, monitors, and reports on the effectiveness and compliance of the University's privacy program.
+ Oversees all applicable privacy laws and related policies, procedures, training and other efforts to strengthen the University's compliance efforts.
+ Reviews and manages all privacy related inquiries received by the Office of Ethics and Compliance directly, as well as those from Procurement, Grants and Contracts, the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Emory IRB, the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Technology Transfer, the Office of Information Technology, Emory Data Governance, and other Emory offices, schools, and units, including, but not limited to, issues related to data subject requests, BAAs, DUAs, technology licensing, FERPA, and other privacy related matters.
+ Collaborates closely with the key stakeholders, including offices such as Emory Healthcare Compliance Office, the University Information Security Officer, the Emory IRB and the University Breach Notification Team to coordinate privacy and security compliance efforts, including handling of potential breaches.
+ Serves as member of, or liaison to, institutional committees and working groups, providing consultation on privacy issues, and supporting privacy compliance.
+ Assists with the Office of Ethics and Compliance communications and outreach and other initiatives as needed.
+ Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A bachelor's degree and five years of professional compliance and/or audit experience, including experience in regulations governing information privacy and confidentiality, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ JD; additional professional certification (e.g., CHRC, CHPP, IAPP, etc.) is highly desirable.
+ Experience in a compliance role at an institution of higher education or corporation in a highly regulated industry.
+ Experience with HIPAA, FERPA and GDPR. Strong analytical and written communication skills.
+ Significant experience in policy drafting, performing, and evaluating risk assessments, and evaluating internal controls and processes in a complex decentralized environment.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.
