    • Develop Crimson’s relationships with private boarding and day schools, ensuring we can provide more meaningful, tailored matching recommendations to students
    • Identify gaps in service and develop systematic, scalable solutions, focusing on high quality service delivery, client satisfaction, and stellar admissions results
    • Train service, sales, and marketing teams as needed to implement and/or comfortably speak to the latest product vision

Experience Required

  • Graduated from a Top 30 U.S. or U.K. university
  • Experience working with young adolescents
  • Experience working with international clients, specifically from Asia-Pacific
  • Previous U.S. boarding/day school consulting track record recommended
  • Previous sales, teaching, or entrepreneurial experience recommended

Manhattan Youth is looking for several part-time After-school Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Middle School team for the school year.  We are seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to assist in delivering a wide variety of programs including sports, recreation, and competitive activities; STEM and other academic enrichment; visual, performing, and creative arts; and leadership, community service, and social justice.  

As a Group Leader/Teaching Assistant, you will serve a critical role in our ability to deliver programs to the children in our community.  Working with Activity Specialists, you will gain hands-on experience with students in our after-school programs.  After-school Group Leaders/Teaching Assistants are expected to help create an environment that encourages in children creative thinking, verbal communication, independent exploration, self-confidence, self-awareness, and a problem-solving approach to conflict.  

Qualified candidates will be punctual, reliable, personable, organized and fun. The right candidate will love, understand, nurture, support, accept all children, and be ready to return to in person learning.

We are looking to fill multiple roles in order to return our after-school programs to in-person learning.  These are part-time, hourly positions available during the school year from September through June, following the NYC DOE schedule.  After-school programs run from 2:00-3:00 to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Individual schedules will vary by school. 

PAY: $20/hour


Primary Responsibilities
  • Greet students, take attendance and supervise students during transition periods (arrival, snack time, transfer to other activities, dismissal);
  • Assist students in recreational and/or sports activities;
  • With Activity Specialist, prepare activities and materials for daily schedule and assume responsibility when necessary;
  • Maintain open communication with Site Director, Activity Specialist(s) and other staff; 
  • Ensure safety of students during all activities and address occasional emergencies;
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and work toward leading classes independently;
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years after-school, camp or classroom experience or currently pursuing a degree in education or a related field;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to express ideas clearly;
  • Ability to work on a team, take initiative, proactively address challenges, and maintain a positive attitude;
  • Willingness to learn, work hard and take responsibility;

The ideal candidate will have experience with or strong knowledge of school social work. The position requires a teaching load of seven courses per academic year (fall and winter semesters). This role offers the potential for future leadership responsibilities, including program oversight and strategic input, for candidates demonstrating strong initiative and collaborative leadership skills.
The School of Social Work is committed to preparing students for social work practice that promotes wellbeing and social impact across society, with a particular focus on urban communities.
Qualifications:
Education
A doctorate earned in social work or related field (e.g. psychology, criminal justice, sociology) is strongly preferred. Candidates without a doctoral degree will be considered for the rank of a full-time instructor with the option of promotion to Assistant Professor of Teaching after earning a doctoral degree.
An earned MSW is required.
Experience
At least five years of professional post-MSW practice experience.
A strong record of teaching experience and expertise in BSW and MSW curricular areas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Commitment to and ability to teach within a social work curriculum.
Experience with curricular development.
Well-versed in using technology in education.
Ability to engage students in the practical application of social work theory and practice from the classroom to the community.
Interpersonal skills that facilitate communication and connection in urban communities and disciplines.
