**Job Summary:**
Coordinates ordering, stocking and return of supply inventory and equipment to support the clinical department's procedural requirements, including the removal of outdated/expired products.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Monitors levels of all inventoried supplies by conducting inventory checks for replenishment with a high standard of accuracy to support department operational requirements.
+ Promotes patient safety by maintaining supplies in a clean, well-organized environment. Tags and monitors short-dated products and removes and documents expired items.
+ Maintains accurate records to determine order status. Follows up on missed deliveries and backorders. Communicates with clinical staff and plans alternative options if needed products are unavailable.
+ Performs cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure stock levels are appropriate.
+ Communicates status on stock, non-stock, specialty order status within departments supported. Communicates any supply needs or concerns with management. Communicates backorder status or problems with supplies and equipment to appropriate personnel.
+ Participates in purchase requisition processing.
+ Assists in maintenance and care of major and minor equipment.
+ Cleans anesthesia equipment and prepares anesthesia rooms for turnover as needed. Assists anesthesia providers with various tasks and functions as applicable.
+ Assists with maintaining organizational contract compliance initiatives.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Overview
The Clinical Specialist serves as a clinical expert and healthcare provider, educator, collaborator, consultant, leader, and researcher for a specific patient population or specialty area while providing consultation to address complex patient care issues, Offering guidance on the prevention and management of patient care practices.
Serves as a collaborative source of clinical expertise and professional advice. Plays a significant role in developing, maintaining, and applying nursing standards, standard order sets, patient care protocols, and policies and procedures in collaboration with health care team members.
Participates in the assessment, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical services for a designated patient population. Assesses and analyzes patient data and evaluates appropriateness in care.
Provides expertise and support for health care surveys and regulatory and compliance reviews from local, regional, and national entities Including, but not limited to, the D.C. Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Supports survey readiness. Collaborates with facility leadership in the development of post-survey action planning and execution.
Participates in risk management as it relates to nursing practice including investigating, identifying, and communicating issues. Incorporates evidence into all clinical activities. Actively participates in research, evidence-based practice (EBP) and performance improvement activities.
Leads and manages a wide array of high visibility, multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving hospital performance in areas including, but not limited to, infection prevention, safety, compliance, regulatory and nursing practice.
Leads, and/or facilitates key strategic regulatory, quality and safety initiatives supporting successful regulatory survey processes.
Supports organization with data collection, interpretation, and analysis to meet and implement regulatory strategies on local, state and national levels.
Coaches and facilitates teams to effectively transition responsibilities to operational leaders. Lead and/or facilitate nursing policy and procedure process and software system. Participates in state or local board of nursing meetings as organizational representative providing assessment of impact to local entities.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing (Required)
• Doctoral degree in Nursing, Education, or Healthcare Administration (Preferred)
• Active DC RN License
• 5 or more years of progressively more responsible job-related experience in Nursing
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Summary and QualificationsThis role will float to Cath Lab, EP Lab, OR, Pre-Op and PACU. As a Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. In this role, you will have the opportunity to float to the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, Emergency Department, CVICU, Cath Lab Prep/Recovery, and other units as assigned based of competencies.
* You will formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness
* You will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals
* You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
* You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice
* You will provide pre- and post-operative patient care
* You will provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments
* You will facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team
Requirements
Experience
* 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
* Preferred – Background in procedural units
Education
* Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
License and Certifications
* Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
* Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – Required at hire

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Operating Room Technician - (ORT) is a member of the surgical team who acts as a primary scrub person and must be technically adept by handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary before, during and after the surgical procedure. ORTs are required to perform all cases that surgeons perform. They may also circulate under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The ORT must be able to take call for Main Campus OR Services as scheduled, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, have excellent adaptation and coping skills, have excellent organizational skills and be a team player. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift patient and equipment with assistance of other personnel or without as need dictates. ORT must have excellent communication skills and always maintains asepsis. Must be able to serve as a resource person for certain specialties. Will assist directly with the orientation, training and serve as a mentor for new ORTs. Must be able to work closely with RNs in room and management about instrumentation and equipment for cases. Also, will assist in education of all ORTs. ORTs will be competent in basic skills of an Endo Tech to be able to float between Main Campus and ASC Endo as needed. ORT's work primarily at CVPH main campus with assignments to Ambulatory Surgery Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Graduate of a surgical technology school with certification obtained within 12 months from graduation OR a currently Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
3. Meets requirements of pre-employment screening and physical.
4. Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with PC operation is preferred.
5. Must be able to take call as scheduled.
6. Must be self-motivated and technically adept.
7. Ability to work independtly under stressful conditions.
8. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
9. AHA-BLS Certified is required or obtain within six months of hire or current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to renewal date.
10. Excellent customer service skills are required.
11. Proof of 15 hours of continuing education yearly.
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
