**Job Summary:**
Coordinates ordering, stocking and return of supply inventory and equipment to support the clinical department's procedural requirements, including the removal of outdated/expired products.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Monitors levels of all inventoried supplies by conducting inventory checks for replenishment with a high standard of accuracy to support department operational requirements.
+ Promotes patient safety by maintaining supplies in a clean, well-organized environment. Tags and monitors short-dated products and removes and documents expired items.
+ Maintains accurate records to determine order status. Follows up on missed deliveries and backorders. Communicates with clinical staff and plans alternative options if needed products are unavailable.
+ Performs cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure stock levels are appropriate.
+ Communicates status on stock, non-stock, specialty order status within departments supported. Communicates any supply needs or concerns with management. Communicates backorder status or problems with supplies and equipment to appropriate personnel.
+ Participates in purchase requisition processing.
+ Assists in maintenance and care of major and minor equipment.
+ Cleans anesthesia equipment and prepares anesthesia rooms for turnover as needed. Assists anesthesia providers with various tasks and functions as applicable.
+ Assists with maintaining organizational contract compliance initiatives.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Role Summary:

The MGB HVI is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as a Senior Director to serve as the lead administrator for the HVI cardiovascular procedural areas including all invasive and non-invasive procedural sites. As the Heart and Vascular Institute continues with MGB integration and coordination across all sites, the Senior Director will play an integral part in delivering efficient, patient centered clinical operations, as well as execution of MGB procedural services strategy. The Senior Director will work closely with hospital procedural leadership to ensure close alignment with the hospital-based structures and teams.

Working closely with the HVI physician Directors for Interventional, Electrophysiology and non-invasive testing including but not limited to echocardiography, electrocardiography and ambulatory monitoring, as well as the HVI Procedural Nurse Directors, the Senior Director will oversee the execution of an MGB strategic vision to provide seamless access to HVI procedures across MGB procedural locations. The objectives for the HVI include maximizing the utilization of all MGB procedural assets, developing aligned clinical and administrative protocols, ensuring transfers between MGB institutions, and supporting the achievement of growth and improved access into MGB. The Senior Director will work with AMC and Community Hospital leaders to develop consistent workflows for clinical orders and scheduling to improve patient and provider experience accessing our system providers. The Senior Director will also play a key role interfacing with MGB/AMC Digital leadership to develop a plan for integrating technology and applications across the system for Cardiovascular care to enable enhanced access across all MGB sites.

Leadership:

  • In partnership with HVI leadership, the Senior Director determines the goals, and objectives for cardiovascular procedural areas.
  • Leads multi-disciplinary groups preparing for the move into the MGH Ragon Building. Provides operational oversight and participates as a critical leader in determining staffing, equipment, space needs, workflows, finances, and other interfaces with hospital departments as part of the move to the new building.
  • Implements HVI strategic plans for growth such as operational efficiencies, bed planning, staffing, recruitment strategies, community presence, capital, and procedural room availability.
  • Works with Institute leadership and MGB Strategy to identify, evaluate, and recommend new business ventures, affiliations, and partnerships consistent with the MGB and HVI strategic plans and the growth and market objectives of the enterprise. Works with departmental and hospital leadership and relevant MGB departments to prepare the necessary business plans and documentation.
  • Serves as a critical member and senior leader for the Heart and Vascular Institute administrative team(s). Establishes and maintains clear communications with Institute leaders as to each areas performance. Interacts and builds strong working relationships with peers and clinical leadership from other divisions and hospitals. Cross covers as needed to support leadership in the Institute.
  • Works with hospital leadership to evaluate and monitor performance of the HVI procedural areas to support the delivery of services and the operational goals of cost containment, quality enhancement, developing a culture of safety, and patient experience.
  • Develops leadership structure that maximizes clinical integration and coordination with procedural areas in the community.

Clinical Operations:

  • In collaboration with HVI leadership, leads the implementation of strategies for the growth, improved access, eliminating case cancellations, bed placement, transfers, improved turnover, and integration of clinical services throughout MGB.
  • In partnership with relevant chiefs, ACMO, directors, and clinical operations leaders, oversees operations of clinical services provided in ambulatory, inpatient, ICU and procedural services across multiple campuses. Works to achieve system level clinical and quality goals.
  • Works with clinical and entity leadership to develop, implement and maintain adequate staffing to support growth and access for the procedural areas.
  • Works with the Chief regarding research planning and growth in the context of advances in technology, science, and the funding environment in collaboration with AMC leadership.

Qualifications

- Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills.
- Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
- Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
- Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
+ Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
+ CPR certification
+ 3 years acute care nursing experience required in ICU
+ Requires a nursing skill level that can adapt to a tertiary setting with high volume, complex patient population.
+ Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
+ Must be able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and take appropriate actions.
+ Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
+ Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
+ Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association - American Heart Association
