Position SummaryThe Quality Control Manager is responsible for providing, implementing and administering a quality control and assurance program to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project plans and specifications as well as the standards and methods specified in the project Quality Control Plan. Key Tasks
The following is a general list of tasks falling into the areas of responsibility of the Quality Control Manager. It attempts to present a comprehensive, but not complete, listing of potential assignments that may be undertaken.
- Responsible for internal and external requests for information (RFI), shop drawings, submittal reviews, progress meetings, site visits, contract completion, closeout, as-builts, and completion documentation.
- Maintain responsibility for the maintenance and currency of the preliminary record drawings and as-builts for accuracy and completeness.
- Supervises all Special Inspectors required by the contract documents and the IBC.
- Verify the qualifications of all the Special Inspectors. Verify the qualifications of fabricators. Maintain a 3- ring binder for the Special Inspector's daily. This file must be in a conspicuous place in the project trailer/office to allow review by the Contracting Officer and the SER.
- Maintain a rework items list that includes discrepancies noted on the Special Inspectors daily report.
- Ensures GMHILL Daily Log Template is used.
- Subscribes to Procore / RMS to track Daily Log Completeness reported online.
Education and Training Requirements:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering OR related field with minimum of 5 years’ experience in federal construction Quality Control role.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated record of project safety and success on work valued from $500K to $10M+.
- Procore Certified: Superintendent certificate (Can be acquired within 30 days of hire.)
- OSHA 30 certifications and ARC First Responder Course completion
- USACE Certified Quality Manager (CQM-C) certification
Skill and Competency Requirements:
- Experience in Procore and Resident Management System (RMS Contractor Mode and/or RMS Quality Control System, QCS)
- Must be able to prioritize, assign, and oversee work on multiple concurrent work.
- Must pass background check, drug screen and federal security clearance processes.
- Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment and project sites that are under construction which may include various weather conditions

About the Process Control Unit Manager position
We are looking for an experienced Unit Manager who will identify process improvement opportunities, reduce errors, improve process results and reduce costs. Maintain and generate documentation of existing processes and improvements, forecast expected results of process improvements, analyze implemented improvements and make continuous adjustments to workflows. Ensure audit readiness at all times. Lead the Quality Control Team and other Unit Managers to improve quality of the Tennessee Plant.
Unit Manager responsibilities are:
* Lead and drive "Quality First" and "Safety Always" focus in all activities all the time
* Evaluate factory floor processes through breaking down the value stream to confirm the current operating workflows. Analyse the information - including the value stream spectrum - and identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve time management, increase quality throughput, etc. based on a validated benefit/ cost analysis that identifies quality improvement opportunities
* Monitor the achievement rate of quality indicators. Create documentation outlining process improvements and how to implement them. Develop step-by-step work instructions to ensure changes are understood and deployed
* Lead and coordinate process improvement implementation teams to ensure bottom-up and across the organization input and involvement to drive a continuous improvement mind-set
* Conduct ongoing analysis of process improvements to ensure they are producing the desired outcome by deploying a Plan - Do - Check - Act (PDCA) methodology
* Ensure all necessary documentation is always in order based on saying what we do, doing it and documenting it. Take ownership of being 100% audit ready at any given time
* Arrange and coordinate internal and external audit preparation and organizational readiness
* Regularly communicate with manufacturing, production management, and facility technology teams to gather input and provide feedback relative to process improvement so that related departments can work organically, focused on generalized data gathering and reporting to plant and department leadership
* Develop training materials, organize and provide timely and relevant training utilizing methods to ensure understanding and immediate application

This individual will ensure all work is completed in accordance with customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the company's Quality Control Program across all fabrication operations
- Oversee inspections of incoming materials, in-process welding/fabrication, and final assemblies
- Ensure compliance with industry codes such as AWS D1.1, ASME, and customer contract requirements
- Supervise and maintain welding procedures, welder qualifications, and NDE documentation
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and project management to ensure quality goals are met
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for any non-conformance issues
- Maintain traceability records, inspection logs, and all required documentation for internal and external review
- Represent the company during customer and third-party inspections and audits
