The Process Operator is responsible for the maintenance and operation of equipment and processes in our Woodinville facility. Some of the processes may involve use of hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Therefore, process operators must follow safe work practices including wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), following detailed procedures and instructions, accurately recording of process conditions and some laboratory testing.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING :

  • Perform job duties in a safe and conscientious manner, following all procedures, programs, and policies established for specific processes.
  • Maintaining equipment and following operations' standard operating procedures.
  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of manufactured or packaged products and intermediates.
  • Isolating systems for maintenance using work permits and lock out tag out process.
  • Operating manual and pneumatic valves.
  • Operating systems using Distributed Control System.
  • Act accordingly to all system and plant alarms and follow standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Maintaining proper and safe process operations of the operating equipment.
  • Adjust machine components and machine settings to comply with product protocols.
  • Remove finished product from machine and separate rejected items.
  • Make periodic checks of process and equipment settings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, and report malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of production techniques and equipment scale-up.
  • Follow detailed procedures and instructions.
  • Record process conditions.
  • Inspect processes and work to assure effective quality control.
  • Support continuous quality initiatives.
  • Function with the production team effectively.
  • Train other employees in proper production techniques, safety and equipment operation as needed.
  • Perform other work as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Strong analytical and math proficiency.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot and problem solve integrated processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for a minimum of two hours without assistance.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to wear a respirator for 30-60 minute periods.
  • Participation in medical surveillance per our Industrial Hygiene program.
  • Ability to work any shift (24/7), both 8 and 12 hour shift lengths.

OTHER QUALITIES WE'D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:

  • AA degree in a related field.
  • 1+ years of direct experience working as a process operator in a chemical plant, power plant, nuclear plant, or other industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Experience using computer control interface software.
  • Certificate in six sigma or lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret piping schematics/ diagrams.
  • Fork truck license.

The base pay range for this position starts at $22/hour for Level 1 ($.50 additional per hour for the night shift) to 28+/hour for more senior levels, depending on experience. All positions come with a company bonus and stock options. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.

Reporting to the Production Manager, Chemical Operator will be located at the company’s headquarters and primary manufacturing location in Medina, OH location. This individual is responsible for assisting mixing/blending of materials, operation of process equipment, and related duties. **ABOUT THE ROLE**
The primary responsible for the plant operator is operating the materials processing equipment that produces the product for sale in a sand and gravel or a quarry operation
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Using a computer or manual controls to operate the plant equipment in order to meet site production needs.
+ Visually observe and monitor gauges etc., of all equipment while in operation to maintain proper flow of material on belts and screens.
+ Walk around plant, observing plant, monitoring the size, quality of the materials, looking for anomalies.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
+ Perform clean up, perform greasing of bearings, assist team members with plant mode changes, and perform repairs as needed.
+ May run a front end loader or other material handling equipment to charge the plant with aggregate, sand and other materials.
+ Maintain strong communication with quality personnel and make adjustment to material blends as required
+ Communicate all safety, maintenance and production needs.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
+ Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced environment.
+ Ability to learn plant flow, plant operations and screening.
+ Experienced with operating/maintaining and troubleshooting a materials or sand and gravel plant preferred.
+ Ability to perform rigorous physical activities in all weather conditions.
+ Previous experience in a construction or quarry environment preferred.
+ Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:**
+ Ability to operate the biodiesel master computer system. This includes operations of the main master control, and process production system along with recording data and generating system reports on a timely basis
+ Perform various quality control functions on oil, biodiesel, glycerine, fatty acid, and water, visual inspection of all types of inventory, measuring physical inventory on a periodic basis
+ Ability to perform all types of general facility maintenance and housekeeping, including equipment inspection, repairs, adjustments, and monitoring throughout the facility
+ Assist with overseeing the production in the biodiesel manufacturing plant
+ Learn equipment maintenance of all mechanical operations at the facility
+ Assist with biodiesel production to meet customer and intra-company demand in the most efficient manner
+ Monitor and continually improve quality control in all aspects of biodiesel operation
+ Make recommendations on improving production efficiency at the facilities
+ Maintain an acceptable plant appearance (neat and clean) for potential and existing Chevron-Renewable Energy Group customers
+ Follow all safety guidelines regulated by Chevron-Renewable Energy Group, OSHA, or other regulatory agencies.
+ Serve on Chevron-Renewable Energy Group safety committee and conduct regular biodiesel department safety meetings
+ Schedule and maintain housekeeping, including maintaining a clean, well-kept appearance in the facility, outside grounds, and equipment

**Required Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 6-12 months general work experience preferred. Previous chemical processing or related experience preferred.
+ General knowledge of computers, basic mechanical and electrical skills, and attention to detail.

**Job Summary**
The Plant Operator will follow site-specific duties and responsibilities within the company manufacturing environment. Work with various construction chemicals in the manufacturing and shipping process and able to operate various equipment in the manufacturing of products. The Plant Operator will perform routine maintenance, operate a forklift, and conduct quality control testing.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for supporting activities related to the blending and mixing of chemical admixtures.
+ Responsible for unloading raw materials from various forms of delivery per site work instruction. (Bulk tanker, pallets, drums, totes)
+ Responsible for loading bulk trucks and various packaged types with finished product per site work instruction.
+ Operate forklift to perform various responsibilities.

+ Clean and maintain equipment in designated area of responsibility.
+ Wear prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure that prescribed safeguards are properly used.
+ Fully understands and completes all mandatory environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) regulations training.
+ Follows environmental, health, and safety regulations (EH&S) and acts in compliance with company policies.

**Education and Experience**

+ One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
