About the role
The RD&A Process Technologist will support the advancement of Kerrys drying optimization processes, with a particular focus on spray drying. This role works collaboratively across RD&A, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to enhance process performance and ensure product quality. The technologist will contribute to the innovation of new techniques, leverage and modify existing Kerry processes to create unique product functionalities, and play a supporting role in process optimization and the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. Success in this role requires excellent partnership with cross-functional teams to establish best practices and effective ways of working.
Key responsibilities
+ Support pilot plant production runs focused on drying and related processes.
+ Follow standardized procedures and best practices.
+ Assist scientists with ingredient weighing for pilot plant production.
+ Submit analytical requests for product testing and support analytical testing as needed.
+ Assist with process development, improvement, and training for pilot plant equipment.
+ Support the pilot plant room owner with contractor and facilities projects.
+ Collaborate with scientists, room owners, contractors, and facilities teams.
+ Assist with problem investigations and troubleshooting.
+ Run validation tests on equipment after work is completed.
+ Help with equipment commissioning.
+ Communicate updates and findings with the team.
+ Help organize the pilot plant room by working with the room owner.
+ Maintain stocked consumables and materials.
+ Learn to operate and run specialized lab equipment, including Brookfield viscometer, pH probe, and homogenizer.
Qualifications and skills
+ Minimum of a bachelors degree, preferably with a science background; experience in chemicals, flavors, or food products is a plus.
+ Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
+ Hands-on experience and ability to operate complex equipment.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Self-motivated with good time management abilities.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

What You Will Do

  • Work with operations, maintenance, and process control engineers to troubleshoot for root cause, address problems identified and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of reliability centered maintenance strategies for process control equipment.
  • Collaborate with electricians to ensure that existing drawings are up to date in field locations and our records.
  • Provide one-on-one support for electricians with troubleshooting strategies, knowledge sharing, and training.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Self-motivated, reliable, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and respect for others.
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting:
    • PLCs (Preferably Allen-Bradley or Modicon)
    • VFD's (Variable Frequency Drive)
    • Process instrumentation
  • At least 6 months working within a process control group
  • Able to read electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts.
  • Hands-on E&I experience

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience programming Allen-Bradley or Modicon PLCs.
  • Experience programming Honeywell DCS or MOD300 DCS.
  • Experience troubleshooting Honeywell Experion DCS or MOD300.
  • Hardware maintenance and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley, ABB, Siemens VFD's.
  • 3 years or more of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining an asset strategy and reliability program for instrumentation.
  • Hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience.

For this role, we anticipate paying $52 - $53 per hour.

Versant Media is looking for a talented individual to become the Manager of Production Technology Support for Versant Media Operations and Technology (O&T), based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and New York, NY. Versant O&T supports Enterprise Technology, Broadcast, and Production systems across Versant Media globally.
The Manager of Production Technology Support balances day-to-day operations, such as management of a dynamic team, providing best-in-class live television production support for Versant, with forward-looking planning and execution around live television production technology strategy, process methodology, architecture, and collaboration with cross-functional business teams and partners. This position will have direct management of the New Jersey and New York-based teams supporting live television production control rooms, studios, and related equipment for all Versant Properties.
Responsibilities;
Team Leadership
+ Build and maintain a strong support engineering team.
+ Maintain team schedules that allow for optimal facility and production coverage including meeting project deadlines and major events.
+ Maintain group documentation including but not limited to task tracking, reoccurring maintenance schedules, and upcoming event calendars.
+ Maintain reoccurring training and knowledge share resources keeping the team up to date
+ Provide regular employee feedback and performance reviews.
+ Develop partnerships across Versant Engineering teams with cross-facility support and engagement.
+ Maintain clear communication with leadership on all issues and task the engineering team is actively working on.
+ Maintain inventory supply levels to prevent team slowdowns that lead to on-air impacts,must have previous experience with inventory management using a database/automation to track supply levels.
+ Develop and maintain standard disaster recovery procedures and drills across various situations.
Television Production Technology Support and Maintenance
+ Assume responsibility for the technical performance of Studios, Control Rooms and associated systems for the Midtown Manhattan office.
+ Provide around-the-clock technical support and maintain a complex broadcast production environment consisting of multiple studios and production control rooms.
+ Track and resolve on/off air reliability tickets as well as communicate with leadership on the status.
+ Consistently track and maintain JIRA support instance.
+ Monitor and oversee operational readiness of current facilities, maintaining in-depth understanding of all relevant technical systems.
+ Coordinate the activities of teams involved in the maintenance, support, deployment, and configuration of broadcast equipment.
+ Attend project meetings to ensure the support teams are engaged and proper resources are assigned to the project life cycle.
+ Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Broadcasting, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
+ Knowledge of SMPTE 2110 standards.
+ 5+ years of recent experience supporting live, television production environments.
+ 2+ years of management or supervisory experience, including providing performance feedback.
+ Experience with Evertz products, including control systems such as Magnum, EXE Routers, SDVN, VUE, VIP, and more.
+ Experience with SONY Production Switchers, Studio Cameras, and other Studio systems.
+ Experience with audio systems: Calrec, LAWO, Pro Tools, RTS/Bosch/ClearCom Intercoms, ENCO.

This role is responsible for leading and supporting Production procurement projects and developing complex analysis within WBD Procurement and should have prior experience in procurement. The role works with the Head of Production & Content Supply Chain Procurement, the lead of Production Technology Procurement, and business stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships.  He/she/they practices formalized sourcing best practices and abiding by standards and procedures. This position is charged with being resourceful, conducting marketplace and project specific information gathering and synthesis, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring continuous improvement.

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Production Technology Procurement will report to the Senior Manager, Production Technology Procurement.

Your Role Accountabilities.

Category Management

  • Conducts analysis of market conditions to proactively manage changes in the marketplace & develop project plans to address such issues.

  • Obtains relevant information for developing new commodity strategies, considering the entire supply chain, information and economic considerations.

  • Identifies key internal customers and stakeholders, and interfaces with them to understand current and future business requirements.

  • Compiles and synthesizes both business requirements and external market conditions to develop optimal commodity strategy with full understanding of potential shortfalls and risk mitigation plans. 

  • Develops initial hypothesis of key savings drivers for commodity across multiple levers – price, cost, demand and process.

  • Develops and compiles required Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP) to facilitate development of sourcing strategy.

  • Develops commodity strategy recommendations in a persuasive fashion and leads implementation of sourcing strategy (sole source or short-list negotiations, leverage added scope, competitive bidding, eSourcing tools, catalogs, reverse auctions, etc.). 

  • Partners with Supplier Diversity efforts to creatively include MWBE in supplier selection process and creatively grow existing MWBE spend.

  • Contributes to environmentally friendly purchase efforts to support WBD Environmental Purchase Guidelines.

Supplier Selection / Management

  • Conducts comprehensive supplier analysis (strategic direction, financial health/risk due diligence, market position/power, capabilities & capacity, resiliency).

  • Monitors supplier relationship programs that cut across multiple business divisions to ensure service levels are being met.

  • Identifies key performance indicators (perfect order, growth drivers, production constraints, investment strategies) to drive business value for both parties and to seek out and find emerging business improvement opportunities.  

  • Conducts periodic supplier meeting to address performance.

  • Leverages WBD’s Supplier Diversity Program and Sustainability partners to include diverse and environmentally friendly vendors in supplier selection processes.

Sourcing-driven Project Management

  • Identifies opportunities where project management expertise needs to be implemented and works to ensure that those involved in key projects are managing them optimally.

  • Demonstrates consistent success in meeting or exceeding goals, timelines, and expectations for multiple projects that may be occurring simultaneously.

Financial, Cost, Spend Analysis; Cost Savings Reporting

  • Can apply various types of financial analyses to address Strategic Sourcing challenges.

  • Conceives and develops complex analytical & pricing models to address Strategic Sourcing challenges, including spend baseline development, bid evaluation and savings calculations.  Can develop detailed analyses of financial statements and business unit cost structures.

  • Develops tracking mechanisms, monitors compliance and creates usage/leakage reports.

  • Leverages Sourcing Tools & Process team and spend management tool during opportunity assessment to conduct market research and determine baseline spend and associated cost.

  • Breaks paradigms to look at financial/analytical problems in new ways.

Negotiations, Contract Creation & Management

  • Develops and conducts negotiations strategies to maximize value to WM across price, service and quality elements.

  • Has the necessary business acumen to be thoroughly conversant in the intent and rationale behind contract provisions from a business as well as legal perspective, and acts as a liaison between the contracting parties, WBD Legal, and management. 

  • Recognizes differences in requirements and strategies across business units and coaches others to use that understanding to optimize WBD protection/advantages. 

  • Develops and implements simplified processes which facilitate timely, effective contracts (makes it easy to do the right thing).

  • Prepares written reports and presentations on contract administration activities for management within Procurement

Qualifications & Experience.

  • 2-4 years strategy, operations and sourcing experience in a sophisticated sourcing environment with demonstrated stakeholder and vendor management experience.

  • Experience in the Media & Entertainment industry with exposure to film, television, and live production is strongly preferred, especially in production technology.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a technical major is required.

  • Professional accreditation in sourcing / procurement preferred.
