Georgia-Pacific is seeking a talented Mechanical Product Design Engineer to join our Technical Center in Neenah, WI. You will be a key contributor to developing innovative dispensing solutions for the consumer products business by collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges. If you're passionate about creativity, designing new products from the ground up, and continuously improving existing designs, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Design and development of electro-mechanical devices from concept through product lifecycle, ensuring robust and reliable solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders, project engineers, electrical and test engineers, quality managers, and designers to deliver market-leading products.
  • Develop and execute product validation and verification test plans to guarantee performance and reliability.
  • Use SolidWorks CAD software to create detailed product designs that minimize build and test iterations through effective modeling and engineering analysis.
  • Support ongoing product improvements and troubleshooting throughout the product lifecycle.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Product design experience
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Experience with plastic part design for injection molding .

As a Product Design Engineer, you will take a critical role in developing hardware systems for VR, AR, or New Technology Initiatives. You will become part of a team exploring developing concepts through prototyping and into mass-production consumer electronics. You will work as part of a cross functional team requiring collaboration in domains other than mechanical engineering. Our teams support mechanical engineering fundamentals, prototyping skills, CAD fluency, manufacturing process knowledge, and experience designing consumer electronics.
**Required Skills:**
Product Design Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team
2. Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
3. Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
4. Collaborate and manage work with Asia-based Supply Chain
5. Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems while working with cross functional technical teams
6. Travel to external vendors up to 20%
**Minimum Qualifications:**

7. BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
8. 2+ years of experience in related/relevant fields
9. Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, GD&T, and 3D/2D CAD
10. Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, and glass
11. Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments, etc.)
12. Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)
13. Proven technical communication skills

14. MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
15. 2+ years of product design and development experience of handheld and/or wearable high volume consumer electronics, including complex subsystems and/or full systems ownership
16. Experience with NX CAD
17. Experience with highly cosmetic products and working with Industrial Design
18. Fluency in a Mandarin and/or Cantonese language is preferred, as this role reviews regional content where usual language is in a regional language
19. Experience designing for human factors
**Public Compensation:**
$111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
