A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Data Professional, you will work within our global Engineering Standards team for Large Gas Turbines. With a continuous focus on business needs and business value you will work with a range of individuals and cross-organizational projects to ensure and improve data quality and (re)usability of our large amounts of technical product related data (CAD, parts and BOMs, documents, test data, simulation data, etc.). Topics range from providing ad hoc user support on individual data objects and issues to responsibility for large scale analysis, cleansing, enrichment and transformation of data as part of major re-platforming of SAP and Teamcenter systems and related migration and digitalization activities.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Ensuring we choose the best PLM data tools, solutions and ways of working to design our complex large gas turbine product and create product defining data ready for use throughout the product lifecycle

• Gaining quick wins for the business by setting up data dashboards and smaller data related apps yourself working in small, agile teams

• Ownership for data and data quality as a member of a cross-organizational data governance community to ensure enterprise level data standards in support of reusability of the data along the end-to-end digital thread

• Improving our data and data landscape: you are a key player to enable and drive the digital transformation of our business. This includes where applicable the use of artificial intelligence in PLM data context

• Interface between Engineering users towards IT departments taking care of maintaining our PLM architecture and backbone systems: you are key to translating business needs into realistic IT requirements

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in mechanical engineering, Computer Science or similar field

• Longstanding years professional experience in relevant topics

• Power industry experience preferred

• Solid experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems (ex. Teamcenter), CAD systems like NX, ERP tools like SAP and related data including data classification

• Experience with automation, programming or low-code apps for data analysis, manipulation and visualization, e.g. Python, Snowflake, Power BI, Mosaic, Alteryx

• Very good communication skills in English and knowledge of the German language would be a plus

Product Lifecycle Management Analyst

Associate positions at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks, and are salaried roles designed for new grads who have graduated from a four-year university.

Role

• Support Engineering in managing MCAD/ECAD product data and documentation in Arena PLM
• Collaborate with teams such as Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure product data integrity and alignment across systems
• Ensure accurate configuration and version control of product information across its lifecycle in Arena PLM
• Assist in the creation, review, and release of part numbers, BOM (Bill of Materials), and associated documentation
• Create and manage Engineering and Document Change Orders

• Proficient understanding of hardware electro-mechanical BOM (Bill of Materials) structure
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy across documentation and verbal communication
• Foundational understanding of product lifecycle and processes, from design through manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure

• Exposure to or coursework in systems engineering or configuration management
• Internship or project experience using any PLM system (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Arena)
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and how they interface with PLM
• Familiarity with structuring advanced PLM activities such as Deviations and Stop Ships
• Strong Excel or Google sheet skills, including use of formulas, pivot tables, V-lookups, and basic data cleansing

Visa U.S.A. Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Director - Product Lifecycle Management (multiple openings) in San Francisco, CA to:

• Responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, governing, and continuously improving the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) framework.
• Design and implement key processes, forums and metrics for each of the phases of the PLM framework (e.g., concept, plan, build, launch).
• Participate in the global effort to automate each phase of the framework (e.g., approval workflow, knowledge management and repository, decision making, reporting, etc.).
• Design and implement metrics to monitor the effectiveness of the PLM framework.
• Produce insights, analyses and recommendations to improve the PLM process.
• Partner with peers in other functional areas (e.g., finance, pricing, risk, commercialization, product development, client services) and across global regional teams to implement and improve the product lifecycle process.
• Lead ad-hoc strategic and operational projects, such as the automation of product roadmaps, and the development of value streams for each of the business units.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and effective management of expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Developing current state process maps, target state process reengineering, and business/functional requirements specifications;
  • Understanding Agile development frameworks and incorporating principles into the design of new processes;
  • Creating user journey map and value stream mapping;
  • Visio;
  • Figma;
  • Jira; and
  • Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
