Job DescriptionAs the Planner, you will be an integral part of our planning team, supporting various aspects of planning including demand, supply, deployment, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) for both internal and external production. Under the guidance of the Planning Manager, this role will help ensure operational efficiency and the successful achievement of our strategic goals.
You will create and implement appropriate processes and data analysis tools necessary for the business units to maintain accurate control of the company's suppliers and manufacturing capabilities in a compliant manner. The position will work with Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Operations, and other cross-functional departments responsible for the management and application of manufacturing (supplier’s and in-house) to support the proper balance of inventory and capacity to ensure there are no supply related business interruptions while optimizing working capital.
You will have the ability to work cross-functionally to support rapid growth and continuous improvement. This position will interact with many functions and levels of the business.
What you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for the flexible execution of demand planning, supply planning, inventory control, and S&OP processes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Coordinate with procurement and internal production teams to facilitate timely and efficient material supply.
- Set the master production schedule for internal production teams
- Contribute to the development and execution of deployment strategies to optimize inventory and reduce excess or obsolete stock.
- Participate in or lead S&OP meetings as directed by the Planning Manager, aligning operations with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Maintain and update planning systems and databases to ensure data accuracy.
- Help monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain planning and performance.
- Execute Planning optimization strategies and projects
- Create communication tools for easy access to key information needed to make business decisions.

The Manager will leverage their project management skillset to oversee large deployments of Verizon Business Group customer orders by coordinating inbound schedules, order processing and transportation logistics to meet customer and Verizon timeframes. **What You'll Do**
The Product Operations Planner will partner with cross-functional, Global Teams and support the New Product Development (NPD) Process from End to End for the Tools & Outdoor Segment. This position is responsible for driving global business decisions pertaining to product changes (new/existing) and overall operational improvements. To ensure customer satisfaction, this role will strongly utilize data analytics to drive operational excellence. In coordination with internal business partners and regional execution teams, this role will be the primary liaison for supply chain/operations within assigned sub business unit for projects. As the supply chain lead, he/she will be critical to the execution of these projects and must develop robust supply chain strategies to ensure on-time delivery. This will also include Continuous Improvement Initiatives relative to the Business Unit Goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain NPI tracker linked to business requirements & supply chain alignment
+ Responsible to ensure all business functions engaged, informed, and following Product timelines according to Milestone Process
+ Communicate timeline constraints and operational mitigations plans to the business.
+ Act as a liaison between Business Unit and Operations/Supply Chain tied to NPD as well as normal business processes.
+ Conduct analytics to create detailed analysis of supply chain optimization initiatives to reduce total cost and lead time.
+ Analyze supply chain constraints and assist in developing lean strategies to drive sustainability & flexibility.
+ Maintain centralized New Product Master and Volume Tracker to support planning across functions: Demand/Supply Planning, Finance, Product Marketing, Channel Marketing/Sales, and Operations.
+ Aid in managing inventory needs to ensure customer's demand and commitments are satisfied for promised sales.
+ Interface across the Delivery/Development pillars; Sourcing, Operations, Channel Marketing, Product Marketing, Packaging Engineering, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Program Managers - to communicate and focus on the following:
+ Sourcing/Operations: 3 year capacity requirements, lead-time reduction opportunities, prebuild requirements, gap analysis, E&O consumption opportunity
+ Program Managers: Launch readiness, timely escalation of risks to network timelines through S&OP process. Evaluate what-if planning scenarios as needed
**Who You Are**
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations or another related field.
+ Minimum of 0-2 years' work experience, newly graduate
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc.)
+ Experience in SAP, JDA and Business Warehouse preferred.
+ Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving ability. Strong attention to detail required.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
+ Effective project management skills and team leadership skills.
+ Strong multi-tasking ability as well as ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
+ Demonstrated proactiveness with the initiative and willingness to overcome challenges.

Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.
You will:
- Develop roadmap and determine product requirements for planner and driving behavior, leveraging product insight and drive alignment across the company
- Work on AI/ML and Planning technologies that enable Waymo's Driver to scale in domestic and international markets, and across many hardware platforms
- Work with other PMs and cross functional teams to identify the long term product focus areas, and steer technology and engineering efforts to address them
- Thoroughly investigate data from real-world miles collected by our fleet, define requirements and guide the team to make the right trade-offs between capability, engineering complexity and other factors
- Align and work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Operations, System Engineering, and other Waymo teams to bring to market products that save lives and transform transportation
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, similar technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 2-4 years of relevant product management experience.
- The ability to gather and dissect large quantities of information, identify issues and trends and turn them into a thoughtful and compelling product vision and technical strategy/decisions
- Proven ability to dig deep into a problem by utilizing technical tools and deep technical understanding
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Experience setting own goals and effectively delivering to them in a very fast-changing environment as well as flourish in ambiguity
- A Master's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline, MBA, or equivalent experience in Robotics or Machine Learning
- Prior product experience in AV, ML or Robotics.
- Experience delivering products with new technology introduction

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
