**Job Description Summary**
The Production Quality Control Leader is responsible for multiple quality activities to support the production of commercial nuclear fuel bundle components for commercial nuclear power plants. The quality leader is part of the technical team supporting the manufacturing of nuclear fuel tubing, channels, and water rods in the Fuel Component Operation (FCO) team. This is a fully onsite position in Wilmington NC.
**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities**
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Ensuring FCO products and processes meet established standards and customer quality expectations.
+ Implement product quality activities to achieve compliance, qualify new products, execute process improvements, and develop inspector staff.
+ Embrace Global Nuclear Fuel's nuclear safety culture, where work is performed with an overriding priority on integrity, safety, security, and quality.
+ Partner with manufacturing operations, engineering and other support functions to meet operational and regulatory requirements and ensure consistent application of quality techniques and standards.
+ Identify and implement proactive solutions for incremental and step change quality process improvements through use of Lean and Six Sigma tools and apply appropriate use of statistical techniques.
+ Perform/Analyze manufacturing process stability and capability studies. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives in FCO, including quality process development and design of experiments (DOE).
+ Maintain, review, update, and create quality documents for production activities. Maintain the most recent interpretations of relevant quality system requirements.
+ Ensure that documented practices meet the true interpretation of the quality management system standards.
+ Quickly and effectively act when product non-conformances are detected to develop corrective measures and implement quality control systems.
+ Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
+ Resolve capability, tolerancing, and materials related quality issues.
+ Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts.
+ Interface with a variety of individuals with diverse backgrounds, including internal and external stakeholders.
+ Participate in internal and external audits, including direct interaction with customers.
+ Supervise team of quality employees. Ensure proper record keeping, timekeeping, performance management practices and other relevant supervisor responsibilities are met.
+ Provide team direction to support business needs, including work assignments, scheduling of overtime, training, resources, and support to assure safe and compliant inspection practices that comply with industrial safety and quality requirements in a nuclear regulated environment.
+ Support, encourage, and facilitate excellent Human Performance and Lean Manufacturing principles.
+ Develop and support the growth of all team employees.
+ Other relevant duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering, Quality, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent technical discipline with three (3) years of professional or military experience in a quality, design engineering or manufacturing field service engineering role.
OR
+ Associates degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering, Quality, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent technical discipline with five (5) years of professional or military experience in a quality, design engineering or manufacturing field service engineering role, plus minimum of 2 years of professional or military experience in a front-line supervision.
OR
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent with eight (8) years of professional experience in a quality, design engineering or manufacturing field service engineering role, plus minimum of 2 years of professional or military experience in a front-line supervision.

+ Ability and willingness to cover off-shifts. Regular shift assignment will be day shift.

**US Pay transparency verbiage**
The salary range for this position is $85k-100K. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. This position is expected to close on August 7, 2025.

**Position Overview:**
The Production Control and Scheduling Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products. Key responsibilities include managing work-in-progress (WIP), resolving material shortages, maintaining ERP/MRP system accuracy, and collaborating across departments to optimize production flow. The specialist plays a key role in aligning labor, materials, and equipment with production demands while supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
Production Scheduling & Execution
+ Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer demand and labor capacity.
+ Release and track shop orders, ensuring readiness of materials, documentation, and equipment.
+ Monitor TAKT time and adjust schedules to maintain production rhythm.
+ Support and maintain an on-time delivery rate of over 90% for customer critical orders.
Production Control & Coordination
+ Track deliverables through all manufacturing areas to ensure on-time completion.
+ Communicate and escalate production issues to appropriate contacts for resolution.
+ Coordinate with engineering and supply chain teams to resolve design and material issues.
System Management & Reporting
+ Accurately update ERP (IFS) and supplemental scheduling systems with production status and notes.
+ Assist with reporting data on labor and overtime needs, production statistics, and equipment breakdowns.
+ Maintain data integrity and transparency across systems and stakeholders.
Inventory & Material Management
+ Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages during production
+ Aggressively track and resolve component and sub-assembly shortages.
+ Collaborate with supply chain to ensure timely availability of parts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Attend planning and supply meetings to review performance and align priorities.
+ Work closely with operations, engineering, and project management teams.
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools and methodologies.
**Education and Experience:**
+ Associate's Degree, Technical Certificate or APICS CPIM Certification preferred
+ 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production planning environment
+ Familiarity with ERP (IFS) and MES systems
**Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
+ Working knowledge of MS365 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PowerBI, CoPilot, etc.).
+ Ability to plan labor and equipment capacity details in a complex production floor environment.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment.
+ Training abilities - ability to train staff through coaching, OJT or classroom settings.

**SUMMARY**
Perform various clerical and secretarial duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Screen and coordinate telephone calls, service requests, and correspondence. Respond to inquiries regarding office procedures and processing; escalate issues as appropriate. Prepare routine, non-technical correspondence.
+ Receive, record and distribute work orders utilizing IBM Maximo 7.6 (NCMMS) to service groups or crews upon customer request.
+ Record information such as name, address, article to be repaired or service to be rendered.
+ Prepare work orders and distribute to service crew or group. Keep records of service calls and work orders and may dispatch orders and relay messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments using radio or cellular telephone equipment.
+ Arrange for conferences and meetings and assemble established background materials as directed. Attend meetings and record and report on the proceedings as requested. Distribute directed communications to team members via email or phone, as appropriate.
+ Maintain a close and highly responsive relationship with the day-to-day activities of the supervisor and staff.
+ Compile and record production data from customer service calls, work tickets, asset specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques.
+ Develop and generate preventive-predictive maintenance schedules, update asset records, dispatch preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to staff or groups for accomplishment, record accomplishment and expended labor hours to perform the tasks.
+ Review outgoing and incoming documents and correspondence for consistency and conformance with supervisor's procedures; assure that proper approvals have been obtained, when needed.
+ Compile reports and data needed to complete reporting, as requested by the Supervisor.
+ Collect and combine information from the files or staff for routine inquiries on office program(s) or periodic reports and refer non-routine requests to supervisor or staff.
+ Explain to subordinate staff supervisor's requirements concerning office procedures and documents.
+ Support the processing of invoices, timecards, and database entry (NCMMS/dBase).
+ Process security clearance paperwork, new vendor set-up, and vendor invoices for payment.
+ Maintain records and files.
+ Track vacations and PTO balances and maintain the PTO calendar.
+ Coordinate communication of service requests to ensure issues are addressed and status is reported to the designated Supervisor.
+ Compile requests for materials and order supplies as requested and approved by the Supervisor.
+ Check assigned mailbox for mail and packages daily.
+ Attend all training assigned both on and off the computer.
+ Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

**Classification Description**
Verifies and posts status information promptly when informed by production superintendents, expediters and maintenance personnel. Coordinates maintenance schedules, actions, and priority changes. Familiar with support organizations' operations and capabilities. Monitors and coordinates sortie production, maintenance production, and execution of the flying and maintenance schedules while maintaining visibility of fleet health indicators. Coordinates and communicates priorities for completing limited resources (e.g. fuel or calibration docks, wash racks, and dispatched specialists from the maintenance squadron(s) (e.g. Egress)) based on daily flying schedule and maintenance priorities. Develops, implements, and maintains functional checklists. Builds, maintains and updates required reports, presentations and spreadsheets ensuring accuracy. Attends maintenance and scheduling meetings. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.
**Specialty Qualifications**
**a. Knowledge.** Knowledge of the principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts, and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting is mandatory. Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) data and EMOC is mandatory. Knowledge of using technical data and Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures is mandatory. Knowledge of non-tactical radio programming and managing overall communications systems is mandatory. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is mandatory. Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste is mandatory.
**b. Education.** Completion of a basic aircraft maintenance course is mandatory.
**c. Experience.** Qualification as MOC Production Control Clerk is mandatory. A minimum of three years of experience performing functions, such as installing, inspecting, repairing, modifying, or overhauling aircraft, aircraft systems, and/or components on applicable type aircraft, is mandatory.
**Special Certifications and Qualifications required for position**
Must be able to travel in performance of these duties. SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
