What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership in the operational unit(s) assigned to with primary focus on day-to-day activities that ensure the safe reliable manufacture of products to support the production schedule.
- Primary individual accountable for unit performance in safety, quality, cost performance, productivity, personnel development, and continuous improvement. Sets measurable annual goals and objectives in all key functional areas.
- Ensures unit compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements.
- Performs weekly housekeeping and safety "walk around" inspections to establish the "standards of performance" in these areas and to drive forward front line leadership and employee individual accountability.
- Develops and tracks key performance metrics for the unit(s) and communicates results visually to unit employees and through monthly reports to Site Leadership Team.
- Responsible for ensuring planned maintenance (PM) inspections (including PSM MI inspections) are completed in the unit in accordance with established schedules.
- Responsible for development of robust SOP's and assurance that these SOP's are reviewed and updated on a regular basis in accordance with PSM and company requirements.
- Works collaboratively with and networks with other Production Leaders in the plant and across the company to ensure shared learnings and rapid deployment of best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring ISO 9001 certification is maintained for the unit and that internal audits in the unit are completed in a timely manner and that findings are promptly addressed through corrective actions.
- Works closely with site process engineers and site/R&D chemists to support new product development and commercialization.
What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):
- Minimum 5 years' experience in chemical manufacturing environment in roles of increasing responsibility.
- Production or process technical support role for at least 2 years.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred or related process industry experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Basic understanding of Federal environmental and safety regulations preferred (air, waste, water, PSM, OSHA).
- Extensive knowledge of chemical manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Demonstrated skill in Continuous Improvement.
- Experience working under a Quality Management System.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint required (or equivalent software tools).
- Demonstrated competency in resin manufacturing, process capability analysis, statistical data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively within all levels of the organization, treating people with respect and valuing individual differences. Able to gather support based on building trust and credibility.
- Ability to recognize and articulate why change is necessary and has the ability to convince others to support needed changes. Also visionary in terms of knowing what the "future state" organization should look like.
- Outward understanding of customer requirements and needs and the ability to interact with customers and give them a sense of confidence that the site understands their needs and works diligently to meet these needs.

Job Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for the management and direction of partial production operations at a designated site with the support of the BUL, Production Manager, and Sr. Live Production Manager. The purpose of this role is to plan, direct, and oversee production business concerns, including safety, animal husbandry, personnel management. This person will provide management oversight of day-to-day operations and long-term production work and activities. Oversee areas of animal husbandry, flock management, bird scheduling, and movement. Work with specialty leaders and teams on activities, projects, and issues that address Production personnel, financial, processing, feed management, and other Production matters to ensure strategic and tactical priorities are successfully addressed. The Production Lead will also ensure proper execution of all Production SOPs.
Essential Job Functions
- Leadership and Team Management: • Provide leadership, direction, and development to hourly employees • Motivate team members to meet corporate and production goals • Responsible for employee training, documentation, coaching, and counseling • Promote a culture of safety and compliance
- Bird Care and Facility Management : • Oversee daily feeding schedule, water availability, and ventilation • Ensure proper care and health of birds • Coordinate with veterinarian and nutritionist for bird health issues • Maintain cleanliness of layer houses (interior and exterior) • Manage mortality extraction and disposal • Implement and maintain rodent, fly, and pest control programs

At Spartronics, the Production Leader leads a team of assemblers in daily operations involving, in-process quality checks, and final assembly in the Aerospace and Defense sector. What A Day Looks Like:
- Mechanical and/or electrical operations or assemblies involving fixed indicating meters, in-circuit test/functional test, marking machines, jigs & fixtures, packaging equipment, wire cutting, stripping & twisting equipment, various types of fastening devices involving power operations, hand tools and gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rules).
- Ability to solder and inspect in accordance with J-STD-001 and IPC-620 or ability to be trained.
- Ability to perform continuity and power testing for the tasks associated with this role or ability to be trained.
