Position Summary:

In order to maintain food production efficiency, quality of product, and employee safety, this position will collaborate with the food production line workers to ensure adherence of Company policy/procedure and State & Federal requirements.

Responsibilities:
  1. Must coordinate assigned food production line set up at various stations and direct team member work to meet daily targets.
  2. Must inspect products to verify conformance/ specifications and direct setup and adjustment to equipment.
  3. Must train and educate food production line workers regarding production and equipment standards to include expected production speeds to avoid delays.
  4. Assist on the food production line to eliminate any disruptions or delays. Address problems and issues as they occur.
  5. Must communicate with Production Supervisor to coordinate production schedule and provide an estimate of labor hours necessary for completion of job assignments.
  6. Must know how to repair and set up and repair line machinery.
  7. Must maintain time and production records.

Working Relationships: Communicates daily with Production Supervisor and other Team Members.

Requirements:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education: Associates degree or above.

Minimum Experience: 1-2 years previous production line experience.

Preferred Experience: 1-2 years previous experience in food production in a lead role.

Position:
The Public Safety Division at DT is an overhead and underground construction shop who maintains critical systems and infrastructure throughout San Francisco such as Police and Fire Emergency communications, Municipal Fire Alarm System and 800 megahertz radio systems.

Under general direction, performs skilled line work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead fiber-optic communications cable and low voltage wiring for various departments of the City and County of San Francisco, including SFMTA traffic control systems, Public Works, PUC, and emergency systems for Police, Fire, and Department of Public Health; as well as distribution systems under 600 volts, and any job required duties as needed.

  • Installs underground and overhead cables and feeders related to fiber optic communications and low voltage electrical construction.
  • Engages in all aspects of UG and OH construction including trenching, conduit, junction box and vault installation, cable and wire pulling, operates power auger to dig holes, sets, plumbs, and anchors poles.
  • Ability to operate and problem solve in small works groups of peers and Line Helpers
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains high tension overhead transmissions systems under 600 volts, related feeder lines, towers, and poles; performs such maintenance when lines are energized or de-energized.
  • Installs and maintains air raid sirens, police and fire alarm call boxes, traffic signal systems, block and warning signals and lighting circuits; maintains alarm bells and telegraphic equipment in fire stations; trouble shoots, locates, and repairs circuits in all related City-wide communications systems.
  • Splices and makes repairs to aluminum and copper conductors; cleans and paints transmission towers and power line poles, patrols and inspects communication and transmission lines, overhauls and replaces switches, breakers, and fuses, and cleans and washes insulators with special hot line equipment.
  • May perform general electrical maintenance work on domestic and other types of wire facilities and equipment.

JobType:
The Department of Technology is seeking to fill three (3) Temporary Exempt - Full Time position. These positions are excluded by the Charter from the competitive civil service examination process and shall serve at the discretion of the appointing officer. The anticipated duration of the position is up to thirty-six (36) months and will not result in an eligible list or permanent civil service hiring.

Work Location:
Incumbent will conduct the majority of work at the Department of Technology, 200 Paul Ave, San Francisco, CA 94124 andwill be required to travel to other sites throughout the City and County of San Francisco.

Nature of Work:
Candidate must be willing to work a 40-hour week,that may include weekends,as determined by the department,including mandatory rotations at Swing Shift (3pm-11pm) and Graveyard Shift (11pm-7am).

The incumbent must be a resident of the State of California or be willing to relocate within 4 weeks of beginning employment with the City and County of San Francisco.

There exists in this work considerable opportunity and possibility of making errors, and the consequences of making errors would be of importance in terms of time, material wastage and/or delay before the error is discovered and corrected.
* Handle and climb ladders and poles, work at heights in boom trucks, enter tunnels, building, trenches, crawl spaces, or manholes to place materials.
* Attach or detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings or poles.
* Use test equipment to check for gas in manholes and may have to empty water and other debris from manholes.
* Dismantle, move or remove aerial, underground or building wire, cable, associated equipment and hardware.
* Load required tools and materials on boom trucks, center mounts, companion trucks, and pick-ups and drive to work location.
* Read and interpret cut sheets and work order prints in order to complete work assignments
* Keep detailed written record of work activity.
* This work requires frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of moderate to heavy weight objects throughout the workday.
* May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.

Basic Qualifications
* Tests - Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy.
* Experience - Management will designate the experience level required for each vacancy.
* First consideration will be given to an individual who in the last ten years has successfully held the position of Line Worker, OSP Construction Installer/Splicer or Plant Construction Installer, or who possesses the equivalent experience (i.e., other telecommunications company experience).
* Second consideration will be given to an individual who in the last ten years has successfully held the position of Cable Splicer, Communications Specialist, Customer Service Technician I, Customer Service Technician II, Customer Service Technician III, Fiber Network Field Technician, Internal Communications Technician, Public Access Sales Technician, Collector/Maintainer, Public Communications Field Technician, Senior Communications Specialist or Special Equipment Installer, or who possesses the equivalent experience (i.e., other telecommunications company experience).
* Third consideration will be given to an individual who in the last ten years has successfully held the position of Buried Service Wire Technician, Equipment Maintainer, Equipment Installer, Frame Worker, or Frame Maintainer, or who possesses the equivalent experience (i.e., other telecommunications company experience).
* If there are no individuals who meet the criteria outlined above, consideration will be given to all other individuals.
* Must possess, at time of appointment, a valid California class "C" driver's license, and if required at the assigned job site, must demonstrate proficiency in the operation of a vehicle equipped with standard (manual shift) transmission. Individuals will be required to obtain a valid California Class "A" driver's license, after appointment, to meet vehicle or equipment operation requirements. (Class "A" drivers will be subject to random drug tests in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations).
* Legally required Criminal Records Check - Employee will be required to be fingerprinted and pass the Department of Justice criminal records screening process in order to ensure that the employee has never been convicted of, and is not the defendant in a pending criminal proceeding with respect to an arrest for, any "serious" or "violent" felony (as defined in the California Education and Penal Codes). The Department of Justice will continuously monitor the employee's criminal record while the employee is employed in this position, and the employee shall be required to pass such continuous screening in order to retain this position.
* Must possess the ability to perceive difference in colors.
* Must possess the ability to distinguish audible tones/levels.

We have a need for Line Worker personnel in our Marathon City, WI production facility!Core Hours
1st Shift: Monday thru Friday, 6:45 am to 2:45 pm. *Saturday hours are generally 6:45 am to 12:45 pm. Availability of Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs

2nd Shift: Monday thru Friday, 2:45 pm to 10:45 pm. *Saturday hours are generally 12:45 pm to 6:45 pm. Availability of Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs.

3rd Shift: Monday thru Friday, 10:45 pm to 6:45 am. *Saturday hours are generally 6:45 pm to 12:45 am or until Sanitation is complete. Please note we have a Monday night start for 3rd Shift. Availability of Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs
Duties for Line Workers

  • Feed cheese onto state of the art production line for wrapping and packaging.
  • Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF and established safety rules and regulations.
  • Set-up scales, operate scales to weigh product for packaging.
  • Ability to pack cheese product into boxes, stack boxes on pallets and inspect packages and boxes or good seals and code dates.
  • Understand and utilize box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment.
  • Perform sanitation of the work area and equipment as needed.
Knowledge/Skills Required
  • Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations.
  • Must be able to give and accept constructive criticism and work as a team player.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional image with customers, peers, supervisors and the public.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred . Education beyond High School would be a plus. Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would also be a plus.
Working Conditions for Line Workers
Work inside a clean manufacturing environment. Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 25 pounds frequently and 45 pounds occasionally.
This job posting is meant to give an overview of the available position. This does not cover every detail of expectations of the position. Duties and responsibilities may be added or modified at any time. Normal operations are Monday thru Friday, with a Monday night start for our third shift. Saturday work may be required depending on production needs. Saturdays are usually six hour shifts. • Disposing of scrap product and raw materials.
• Keeping work area clean.
• Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and Ziegenfelder environmental, health, and safety
directives, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Food service and/or production experience preferred.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

Physical Abilities
• Standing up to 8 hours per day.
• Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
