As a Production Maintenance Technician (PMT) in our Morgan Hill, CA facility you will be responsible for:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines & production equipment (including air compressors, pneumatic plumbing, electrical & custom equipment)
- Install or repair various facilities infrastructure equipment and support equipment including ductwork, piping, exhaust, wiring and HVAC.
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
- Hands-on troubleshooting and characterization of sophisticated mechanical & electro-mechanical systems
- Develop/improve working instructions and preventative maintenance documents
- Works closely with Production, QA and Engineering departments
- Operates machines for production or for R&D purposes
- Assist on R&D equipment & processes
- Assist engineers with process validation and design control
- Work with engineers to ensure that applicable machines and measuring instruments are calibrated
- Be proactive & comply with safety regulations
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical trade school preferred; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Experience: 5 to 10 years in automation machine maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic preferred
Skills:
- Knowledge in automation system, motion control and basic PLC programming, boiler and HVAC preferred
- Knowledge in power tools, manual mills, lathe, band saw, soldering and brazing copper pipes preferred
- Ability to properly use hand tools

The Production Maintenance Technician will be responsible for responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment
Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot CNC, Mazak, Fanuc Robots, VFD's, pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, gearboxes, hoist, air handlers and other equipment as required. Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on all production related industrial systems including, but not limited to, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and coolant systems.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Performs pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright related work on the production equipment and systems.
+ Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, alignments, etc.
+ Troubleshoots and repairs heat exchange equipment.
+ Utilizes meggers, voltmeters, multi-meters, etc.
+ Performs plumbing and hydraulic hose repairs.
+ Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.
+ Safely operates fork-lifts, hoists and cranes.
+ Utilizes safe rigging and lifting techniques.
+ Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, controls, and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
+ Responds to and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
+ Recommend activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
+ Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
1. Maintain a safe and clean work area. Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures.
2. Able to attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc.
3. Understand and utilize portable ladders and demonstrate proper selection of required fall protection devices.
4. Performs preventive maintenance activities on facilities following written instructions. PM activities include measurement of wear, replacement of worn or defective items (i.e., belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.) and inspection/evaluation of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, or vibration.

7. Performs shift "rounds" using a checklist to document performance characteristics (i.e., operation modes, pressures, temperatures, RPM, etc.) of facility systems and equipment.
8. Communicates with the customer's operational leadership, site leadership or designee in assuring that all aspects of a work request are understood that parts must be ordered, or that requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order.
9. Performs PM & repairs within the process area.
10. Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.

2nd shift
Shift Differential: 6%-8% of base hourly rate paid for applicable hours worked
Responsibilities:- Maintain equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid handling systems.
- Performing preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as required.
- Emergency repairs and adjustments while the line is running in a timely and efficient manner.
- Responsible for smooth and efficient changeovers.
- Equipment fabrication and/or modification in order to maintain and improve the lines.
- Efficiently troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
- Maintenance of equipment to ensure maximum reliability and highest quality possible at all times.
- Maintenance of facilities and operations of all plant equipment.
- Accurately record project activities and prepares appropriate operating standards and/or maintenance procedures for all equipment and processes.
- Establish and maintain communication with appropriate equipment vendors and suppliers.
- Responsible for start up and shut down of all plant equipment each day.
- Responsible for keeping a clean safe working environment.
- Responsible for working on machines that use chemicals (caustic, acids and ammonia).
- Production equipment maintenance experience, preferably in food and beverage environment.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge.
- Ability to understand blueprints, diagrams and ladder logic programs.
- Experience with software interface tools for Allen Bradley or GE PLCs and windows based software preferred.
- Proficient in using hand, power, shop and diagnostic tools.
- Skilled in electrical power/controls, mechanical and fluid handling systems.
- Experience working in maintenance related fields including general computer operated machines, industrial electrical and welding.
- Plumbing and HVAC experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills along with mechanical aptitude and ability to perform multi-task operations.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds minimum.
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders; walking and standing required.
- Must have own tools.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team and independently to achieve team objectives including decision making and problem solving as well as adapt to changing priorities and conditions.
- Flexibility to work overtime based on business needs.
- Trade / Technical school or Millwright certification preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
