- Coaches and mentors team members to assure their ongoing development
- Stays abreast of new trends and developments in methods, techniques, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies, which might be incorporated into the production process to increase efficiency or better use of resources. Researches and recommends capital equipment purchases.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- A hands-on leader that is a role model with high integrity, positive influence, and strong business acumen that embraces change, possesses a continuous improvement mindset, and has a passion for exceeding customer and company expectations.
- Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business or equivalent 10 years of staff level leadership experience.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in Operations and/or Lean Management.
- Printing industry experience is preferred.
- Experience in being a change agent in complex transformational activities.
- Significant experience in implementation of Lean principals as they apply to manufacturing operations.
- Ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to determine root cause of problems and provide effective countermeasures.

**Responsibilities**
+ Provides leadership in maintaining safety, quality and efficiency throughout the department.

Perdue is hiring a Production Manager for our Sioux Center, IA location. This production position works in a production area processing pork products. Requires working with pork, raw products. Typical assignments may include debone, cut up, evisceration, stack off, Multivac, overwrap and/or sanitation. ITW Medical, a division of ITW, is comprised of two highly respected brands- Coeur and Filtertek, supplying critical filtration and flow control solutions to global OEM's, serving Surgical, Infusion, Bioprocessing and Diagnostic Imaging end markets.
**Summary:**
The Production Manager will report to the Operations Manager and will provide leadership to the day-to-day operation in our Hebron, IL plant. They will focus on safety, communication and accountability for shift leads and technical leads. This includes publishing the production schedule, navigating priorities throughout the day, and ensuring effective communication between operators, technicians, and appropriate support resources.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Drive ownership between supervisors and their team for the JHA (Job-Hazard Assessment), JST (Job-Specific Training) and retraining processes. Take action steps to confirm employees and supervisors are being held accountable to safety and performance expectations.
+ Defining and tracking Job Specific Trainings based on job hazard assessments.
+ Documenting regular safety conversations and driving accountability to safety procedures.
+ Partner with Quality Manager to implement best practices, procedures, corrective actions as needed and to prepare for audits.
+ Drive ownership between supervisors and their teams for containment of suspect product.
+ Define standard practices and expectations to minimize scrap, rework, and expedited freight and to drive consistency in our production processes.
+ Implement expectations around start-ups and set-ups that allow for accountability and ownership of every start-up in the plant.
+ Partner with management team, manufacturing engineers, and other leaders to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts by navigating operational challenges and opportunities. Creating action plans that keep our employees safe and that meet our customer expectations.
+ Communicate expectations to supervisors so that they are able to take responsibility for the safety, quality and production goals for each day.
+ Cascade and drive progress on facility goals, especially safety, cost of quality, conversion cost, and other costs of focus. Drive execution of Front-to-back initiatives, especially in-lining projects that drive cost savings for the plant.
+ Support the Annual Plan (AP) and Long Range Plan (LRP) process by proposing different budget scenarios as requested, as well as the staffing plan for future years based on revenue estimates.
+ Lead and coach their team on Talent Development for themselves and for their employees.
+ Define targeted areas for development as well as distinctive strengths of each direct report.
+ Conduct 1-1 meetings every 1-2 weeks with direct reports to both give and receive feedback, while still engaging each day in daily touchpoints with each shift.
**Qualifications:**
+ 3-5 years of experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing environment.
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial in this role.
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and able to operate within ERP, MES, and other relevant computer systems.
+ BS in Engineering or Business is not required but is preferred especially if the candidate does not have extensive work experience.
