Location: Santa Ana, CA
Hours: Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm
Summary
The Production Operator will perform assigned duties as necessary and comply with all company work
instructions and quality management system instructions. In this role, the individual will read and follow
assembly specification instructions and inspect assembled discs. In addition, will also work with
production, engineering and other departments to assist with refining products and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and assemble parts.
- Build parts in line with company expectations.
- Will use simple hand and machine tools
- Accurately read and follow procedures, routing and other work instructions.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to meet production specifications, schedules, and
- quality standards.
- Safely operate machines and production equipment, following instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area along with equipment and materials.
- Run, monitor and ensures parts flow through the automated machines properly
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize rejects.
- Ensure adherence to quality product standards, minimizing defects.
- Maintain accurate daily production records for performance analysis and meet company
- deadlines to adhere to production schedules.
- Comply with relevant elements of quality systems.
- Inspector output quality and address faulty products promptly.
- Participate in audits to ensure compliance.
- Follow test procedures according to company standards.
- Assist with inventory management and material movement.
- Verify arriving materials against purchase orders.
- Ensure proper flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas per guidelines.
- Report work progress, updates, and quality issues to the lead or supervisor.
- Adhere to rules and regulations, including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics,
- International Trade Compliance, and Human Resources.
- Will perform other assigned tasks possibly with other functions/department as the need arise.
Requirements
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience within assembly/production or related work experience.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written specifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a clean & organized environment.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate their way through the computer to enter data, review documents, check email, employee center, and announcements (required)
- Excellent hand dexterity and coordination is a must as the position requires repeated reaching,
- bending, twisting, squatting, assembling and standing for long periods of time throughout the
- entire shift.
- Excellent eyesight for attention to detail and safety awareness is a must.
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing precision tools & equipment.
- Prior work experience in a clean room environment is preferred but not required.
- Requires on-going lifting and moving of materials.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate to team members,
- engineering and quality personnel.
- Ability to learn other skills as the need arises.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to be flexible in changing situations.
- Ability to be collaborative and work with the team to meet Company goals.
Work Environment
- Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Work in a clean room environment with RH20% and below in some rooms.
- Must review, understand, and adhere to Clean Room gowning requirements.
- May possibly work in a BSL2 lab
- Some work stations will require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn.

What does it mean to be a Prysmian Production Line Operator?
Monitor plastic extrusion or stranding lines while running to ensure quality/timely production of cables.
Perform machine startups, changeovers and operator preventative maintenance as required.
Perform required measurement checks to ensure cables are manufactured to quality specifications.
Proactively report any production shortfalls, quality nonconformances, and equipment issues swiftly
Follows all safety, personal protective equipment, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent experience
12 months Manufacturing, Service or Warehouse experience
Ability to pass the Skills Test with favorable results.
Must be able to successfully complete the background check and pre-employment drug testing.
Ability to visually distinguish 12 basic colors.
Ability to stoop, bend at the waist, stand, and sit as needed to reach product while working up to 12 hours per shift.
Loading and unloading of materials as needed with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
Manual rolling of reels between 200 and 800 lbs. for short distances with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate proficiency of simple calculations and use of all required measurement tools (Calipers, Measuring Tape, Thickness Gages)
Ability to have full range of motion in shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers for manipulation of product and work equipment.

Production Operator is responsible for producing high-quality industrial wire and cable in a safe and timely manner in a heavy industrial environment.

Qualified candidate is responsible for producing a quality product, meeting all specifications of work orders to meet customer standards. **Essential Production Operator Responsibilities can include but not limited to:**
+ The operator reviews all details of design; Pulls orders and raw materials for production. Paying attention to the details of specific colors, fiber sizes, lengths and group numbers
+ Sets up assigned process per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Set up includes loading and unloading fiber bobbins and fiber spools.
+ Performs break-down process of ribbon and dye components. Cleans components with approved chemicals including isopropyl alcohol, and acetone and follows all safety procedures and utilizes proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
+ Documents daily production reports.
+ Completes quality check points as listed on the SOP to ensure that process is running appropriately and reducing any needs for rework, or scrap.
+ Loads, unloads, and, with the use of approved tools (including power-operated reel lift), moves reels to appropriate locations in accordance with operations workflows.
+ Sets up the jacketing process per the SOP ensuring safety precautions are taken and ensures that quality product is being produced.
+ Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Identifies any potential safety hazards to Team Lead, or HSE Manager to promote the "Zero and Beyond" safety goal/initiative.
+ Completes all operator Preventative Maintenance (PM) duties on a daily basis.
+ Loads, and unloads fiber ribbon reels to string up unitize process lines.
+ Monitors the unitize process for any potential quality defects and documents all required data within the SAP database system.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Basic mathematic skills-adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and basic percentages
+ Basic computer utilization skills
+ Must achieve required hours of On-the-Job Training, peer training and pass a certification test within probationary time-period
+ Ability to learn and comprehend written instructions (daily operations tasks, and hazardous materials handling)
