As the **Production/Plant Engineer** , you will be responsible for monitoring the production of chemicals through various processing steps, driving improvements, collaborating with maintenance and engineering departments, and creating operating procedures and instructions for production supervisors and hourly operators.
ICL Industrial Products division has a manufacturing plant near the Charleston/Huntington, WV area, specifically along the Ohio River in Gallipolis Ferry, WV. This position will require in-person attendance at the Gallipolis Ferry facility.
**I'm interested! What will I get to do in this position?**
+ Accountable for performance to KPI's (Key Performance Indicators): safety, environmental compliance, quality; throughput/rate; and yields for assigned processes.
+ Create new and update existing operating procedures for both supervisory and hourly production staff.
+ Manage small capital projects.
+ Drive continuous process improvement in all aspects of chemical processes including procedural, control, and equipment improvements.
+ Maintain and improve product quality.
+ Define raw material specs within cost constraints.
+ Generate and follow through on management of change for assigned processes including documentation.
+ Lead and complete all second level quality/environmental/safety investigations.
+ Lead or participate in safety, environment, and process investigations, audits, or assessments through HAZOPs, learning teams, root cause analysis, pre-startup safety reviews, maintenance and/or capital project reviews, and other activities
+ Direct and assist in routine trouble-shooting and basic root cause analysis for processing issues with other production, maintenance, and engineering personnel.
+ Define SIC (Short Interval Controls) for processes.
+ Optimize yields.
+ Reduce variable cost of products and update BOM's (Bill of Material) based on plant improvements.
+ All other duties as assigned.
**What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?**
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or related field and or will achieve by Dec 31, 2025.
+ Computer literate. Proficient in computer networking and controls instrumentation as well as Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Able to regularly move and lift to 50 lbs., wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as climb stairs and ladders.
+ Willing and able to work in confined areas.
+ Strong environmental, health, and safety (EHS) cultural awareness.
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex problems utilizing data.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
+ Leadership skills and the ability to lead change.
+ Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
+ Willing and able to work occasional weekends and holidays as well as be on call on a regular basis.
**What will set me apart?**
+ Manufacturing and production related experience, including co-op or internship experience at a chemical plant or refinery.
+ Knowledge and experience with automation using DCS or PLC controls, and processing sensing instruments and final control elements.
+ Knowledge and experience with various chemical processing equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, agitators, reactors, distillation towers, cooling towers, etc.), piping and pipe fittings, and environmental controls.
+ Experience with computerized enterprise resource maintenance systems (ERM), specifically SAP.
+ Statistical process analysis experience

**Salary Range:** $60,000 - $15,000
**Annual Bonus Target:** 5% - 7%, subject to plan provisions.

**Overview**
Graham Packaging is seeking an **Intelligent Factory Operations Manager** to play a key role in coordinating and executing initiatives under the Intelligent Factory Program (IFP). This position will focus on driving efficiency across internal teams, coordinating training for plant staff, managing vendor partnerships, and ensuring timely execution of technology-based projects that modernize our manufacturing operations.
This role will lead day-to-day coordination of IFP projects involving **custom software deployments, OEM equipment modifications, and network infrastructure installations** . The Intelligent Factory Operations Manager will ensure alignment across functions-engineering, IT, operations, and plant leadership-to deliver seamless, connected, and data-driven factory solutions.
The position is **remote** , with periodic travel to manufacturing facilities.
**Responsibilities**
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient execution of Intelligent Factory Program initiatives.
+ Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects.
+ Serve as the primary liaison between Graham's internal teams and external vendors for software, OEM, and networking projects.
+ Prepare and manage **Statements of Work (SOWs)** for external contracting companies; ensure alignment of deliverables with project requirements.
+ Oversee **purchase orders (POs)** , budgets, and vendor touchpoints to maintain compliance with financial and operational expectations.
+ Schedule, coordinate, and track training sessions for plant staff to ensure readiness for new technologies and systems.

The standard compensation for this role is $107,900 - $161,800. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate

**Compensation Statement**

+ Stand for long periods of time during production run.
+ Lift up to 80 pounds and move item short distances.

+ Environmental conditions in different parts of the plant can include extreme heat and cold, wet and humid conditions, noise, vibration, exposure to dust and poor ventilation.

+ PPE including hard hat, steel-toed shoes with meta-tarsal guards, ear plugs, and safety glasses are required at all times.
