**Job Summary**
Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as an Operations Supervisor responsible for a team of unionized Test Technicians. In this role, you will lead a group of Test Technicians as they perform standard testing procedures on a variety of equipment. Your team will work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to provide technical support for various items including complex components, devices, material, products, processes, and equipment.
**What You Will Do**
+ Oversee the day-to-day activities of a group of unionized Test Technicians
+ Hire, develop, and assess performance of assigned team members
+ Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches including running test set-ups of significant complexity
+ Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and test procedures
+ Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations
+ Lead a team to meet production deadlines and ensure quality of finished product (pass/fail rates)
+ Diagnose cause of electrical, optical, mechanical malfunction, or failure of operational equipment
+ Ensure product/service quality through proper utilization of resources and adherence to applicable standards
+ Lead activities to resolve issues and problems, identifying root cause and effecting appropriate corrective action
+ Monitor and enable internal and external customer satisfaction
+ Drive continuous improvement through deployment of best practices, such as Lean Six Sigma
+ Maintain and continuously improve areas, which impact on Team Member safety
**Education & Experience Requirements**
+ 3-5 years supervisory or team lead experience and an associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience in related testing environments
+ Must have experience in working with high power and medium voltage equipment
+ Must demonstrate strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
+ Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices
+ Experienced in the use of various computer applications, specifically the Microsoft suite
+ Must have strong mechanical skills
+ Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
+ Experience with Industrial Engineering concepts and 5S/6S techniques
+ Knowledge and familiarity with standards (ISO, AS, etc.)
U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Work Environment
Hotel
Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.

Hourly Pay Range: $22.09 - $27.07

What Youll Do:

  • Complete our 8-to-10-month Production Management Development Program, designed to develop your expertise in production supervision, managing manufacturing operations, and using various types of manufacturing machinery in both union and non-union plants.
  • Assist plant management with daily plant operations, including staff supervision, production planning, and equipment management.
  • Apply statistical process principles and basic quality tools like diagrams, flow-run-control charts, to optimize production.
  • Manage production throughput, ensuring efficient use of equipment and materials while adhering to safety procedures.
  • Enforce standard operating procedures and assist with training and developing plant staff.
  • Oversee teams in various locations, administering labor contracts and fostering positive workplace relations.

We Need You To Have:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred in an engineering or manufacturing field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing operations with hands-on experience using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools.
  • 1 or more years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and act quickly in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do on a typical day:
+ Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations
+ Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet the evolving demands of the department
+ Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks
+ Supervise hourly staff across various operations and act as primary point of contact for workplace concerns and questions
+ Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and other administrative functions
+ Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs
+ Enforce all company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies, rules, regulations, and laws
+ Implement all applicable workplace policies and procedures and enforce compliance to optimize network performance
+ Ensure customer freight is processed, handled, loaded and delivered timely and damage free
+ Coach and develop employees on proper techniques and quality requirements, including conducting new hire employee evaluations and determining whether to issue corrective action for violations of XPO's workplace policies
+ Effectively direct a team to consistently meet or exceed productivity goals
+ Make recommendations regarding hiring, suspension and termination
+ Develop and present action plans to improve load average and model compliance
+ Participate in internal safety and engagement committees
+ Train employees on safety rules and processes
+ Monitor and maintain organization within the shift to ensure safety and productivity
+ Conduct daily staff meetings and communicate corporate messages, revisions to policies and procedures to all team members
+ Inspect working conditions of tools and equipment needed for safe operation within the workplace and direct the correction of any improper or adverse conditions that exist
+ Provide instruction, analyses, suggestions and ideas for improvement of operations within the shift and the service center
+ Act as a champion of XPO values by demonstrating them and holding your team to the same high standards
+ Minimize shipment rehandle across the network by prioritizing direct loading, headloads and sector loading while maintaining all company quality standards
Freight Operations Supervisors are required to:
+ Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 75 lbs.
+ Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
+ Walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate controlled
