**Job Title:** Production Associate
**Location:** Weidman, MI
**Pay Range:** $18.50 to $20 an hour - depending on shift
**Shift:**
1st shift - 6:30 am to 5 pm (Monday thru Thursday)
3rd shift - 8 pm to 6:30 am (Sunday thru Wednesday)
**What's Needed?**
+ Must have a high school diploma or GED and provide proof. REQUIRED
+ Ability to pass a background and drug screening as per client requirements.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have good attendance habits.
+ Willingness to work overtime.
+ Mechanical inclination
+ REQUIRED prior manufacturing experience
+ Press Brake Experience
+ Assembly experience

**Compensation:** $21.00 / hour
**Shift differential:** 6%-8% of base hourly rate paid for applicable hours worked
**Shifts:** Day Shift 6:00 am - 6:00 pm OR Night Shift 6:00 pm - 6:00 am on a rotational 2-2-3 schedule

Responsibilities
**Skills Required:**
+ Operate, changeover, clean, troubleshoot, and complete basic maintenance according to company standards on production equipment consisting of fillers, labelers, case packers, palletizers, blow mold machines, wrappers, and forklifts
+ Record the following: preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output, and other key metrics
+ Adhere to safe work practices, good manufacturing practices, and participate in safe behavior observation programs
+ Communicate effectively when issues arise that prevent operating to company standards/procedures
+ Meet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, and downtime
+ Perform mathematical calculations as needed
+ Ensure quality product is sent to customers by completing hourly quality checks
+ Inspect raw materials against quality standards before loading them
+ Interact with team members from various departments (Quality Assurance, Maintenance, etc.) to maximize output and efficiency
+ Attend shift, team, and plant meetings during their scheduled times
+ Measure and continuously improve the line operation as a team and with other technicians
+ Crosstrain in other areas to support operations during downtimes
+ Maintain your workstation in an organized and clean manner ensuring safety and good manufacturing practices

Qualifications
**Requirements/Qualifications**
+ High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
+ Prior experience in clean manufacturing preferred
+ Ability to work the scheduled shift which includes start-up and handover meetings
+ Exposure to high-speed production and/or basic maintenance is preferred
+ Troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
+ Ability to work on your own and with a team
+ Strong communication skills both face to face and over the radio
+ Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft applications, SAP experience a plus
+ Forklift experience is preferred, but we are able to train new associates
+ Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. and stand on your feet for extended periods of time throughout the day
+ Ability to work in adverse environmental conditions, including inclement weather and changes in temperature

ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor (Paper Science) to support operations at OX Engineered Products Constantine, MI. This position will be responsible for providing ongoing technical support to the production department as well as primary support for Environmental Regulatory Compliance. Due to the size of the facility the Supervisor will be called upon to be involved in multiple aspects of the mill management. #HBEIA

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Provide experienced supervision to support 6 or more shift

personnel to ensure manufacturing lines remain in working
order.
  • Ensure a quality product is manufactured in a safe and cost-

efficient manner.
  • Respond to emergency issues as required.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are maintained

and followed.
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team.


Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promote a safe working environment in all interactions with mill personnel

as well as personally following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Improve the reliability of the process control systems. This includes the

DCS system as well as level, pressure and consistency control systems.
  • Day to day operation of the wastewater treatment facility.
  • Initially performing the testing and data entry functions for the

Environmental Compliance and eventually obtaining a Certificate of
Competency for the facility.
  • Preparation of capital request, track project status and overall capital plan.
  • Obtain quotes for equipment and/or services.
  • Assist in design of additions/installations.
  • Implement daily operations schedules as set forth by the Mill

Superintendent to meet production schedules, product standards, and
operational costs. Responsible for the operation of all prime machines on
respective shift and entire plant on off shift. Assist operators as necessary
to keep the lines running.
  • Input and/or review production inventory into production database to

ensure accurate reporting to finance.
  • Implement employee schedules as set forth by Mill Superintendent in

accordance with machine operating requirements.
  • By approval of Mill Superintendent, adjust schedules as necessary and

document attendance in an appropriate manner.
  • Support training of hourly shift employees to ensure daily objectives are

met.
  • Support coaching, motivating, and disciplining efforts of all hourly shift

production employees ensuring performance standards are met to
improve morale.
  • Responsible for documenting and communicating all issues to the Mill

Superintendent and Human Resources.
  • Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance issues with

Maintenance department.
  • In collaboration with Mill Superintendent, compose and follow through on

all necessary paperwork/documentation for such issues as employee

performance evaluations, time & attendance system, downtime reports,
absenteeism reports and accident reports.
  • Protect company property and address emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Implement good housekeeping throughout the facility.
  • Treat others with dignity and respect.
  • Set good examples of adhering to all time and attendance rules (be at

work at the beginning of scheduled shift and remain until the end of your
scheduled shift and/or when properly relieved unless communicated
otherwise by the Mill Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Mechanical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or

other engineering discipline.

  • Fundamental understanding of ancillary technologies associated with

design and manufacturing of product within paper mills.
  • Excellent analytical skills required.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft office and CAD.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting.
  • Ability to work and think independently.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role when needed on a project.
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Climate: Heat, humid.
  • Fumes or airborne particles (dust, smoke).
  • Contact with chemicals (cleaners, oils).
  • Protective equipment.
  • Employees work around moving mechanical parts, tools and machinery.
  • Works under the direction of the Engineering Manager and Director of Operations.


Physical Demands
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently

75 pounds.
