Scope Of Position:
Hourly Production Workers are the backbone of our Company. They perform a key role with ensuring that our products are consistently manufactured safely and the specifications of our customers. They are responsible for completing mandatory safety trainings applicable to their specific job assignments, complete all required Food Safety/GMP trainings and assist with product reconditioning as needed or directed.
As an organization, we do our best to ensure that our Hourly Production workers are able to master their assigned roles before moving on to other positions within the facility, but that is not always possible. Ideal candidates for these positions must be agile and willing to shift focus and energies as the business demand changes.
Responsibilities:
+ Use an assortment of knives, steel, and a hook to perform job tasks.
+ Keep the knife sharp: develop good knife sharpening skills. Ask for assistance if needed.
+ Operate heavy equipment.
+ Bag and Box product.
+ Must use proper personal protective equipment effectively.
+ Expected to work hands-on at high speed and times to lift over 50 pounds.
+ Must keep work areas clean and follow proper food safety protocols.
+ Inspect meat or meat products and/or packaging.
+ Stay aware of your surroundings and notify a supervisor if you recognize a hazard.
+ Other duties as assigned.

STANDING - Constant standing for 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week (Loading dock 7 days as needed per schedule.) (2 allowed breaks are scheduled based on the union contract and operational requirements.)

Comments:

**Position Summary:**
As a Production Specialists, you'll have an opportunity to participate in a unique operation at Penske. You will be responsible for all aspects of reconditioning batteries to meet Penske's quality standards. You will become a CBC technology expert through hands-on training and mentorship. Batteries are an essential part to our vehicles exhaust system, and you will be an essential part to our operations. This position will be located at the Penske facility at 2612 Middlebury St Elkhart, IN 46516
The schedule will be Monday through Friday tentatively 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

**Major Responsibilities:**
+ Examine and preform quality tests on Batteries.
+ Safely and efficiently operate charging equipment while following proper processes to recondition batteries.
+ Data entry for Battery condition, measurements, and pass/fail.
+ Kits charged batteries to prep for shipment.
+ Maintains cleanliness and organization of the facility. Ensures that parts are organized and properly stored.
+ Maintains equipment to include cleaning and regular maintain upkeep.
+ Supports the facility in continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Establishes and maintains effective team relationships.
+ Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
+ Preform additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
+ 1 - 2 years of manufacturing or industrial experience is preferred.
+ High School diploma or equivalent required.
+ Strong computer skills using Microsoft office.
+ Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required.
+ Ability to operate machinery/equipment properly and efficiently.
+ Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as work independently.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to adjust to match workflow fluctuation.
+ A valid driver's license.
+ Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
+ Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete a Penske employment application, submit to a reference verification (to include past employment and education) are required.
