Summary of the Role
This position is typically responsible for a variety of tasks that are manufacturing or distribution based and may include assembling and manufacturing gaskets and sealing products. The role includes operation of machinery including fabrication monitoring and quality control to meet specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
+ Prepares and delivers vendor managed inventory items to customers as needed.
+ Assembles products to company, customer and manufacturer's standards
+ Performs all product testing to quality standards as required by the customer and per company work instruction
+ Maintains productivity standards
+ Perform all tests specified by the attached "Test Certificates" as specified in the Work
+ Ensure all testing equipment (pressure Gauges) are calibrated before each use
+ Submit all completed work to management for receipt into inventory
+ Maintain all shop locations in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
+ Must sign off on In-Process Inspection Report. Stamp Assembly Certificate of Compliance if tested internally
+ Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse.
+ Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for delivery or shipping
+ Operates mechanical equipment, hand tools, forklifts and picking lifts (if applicable)
+ Assists with physical inventory
+ Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements

Skills and Abilities
+ Applicants should possess the ability to interact with team members in a professional manner.
+ Must have good communication skills
+ Requires basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in units of measure.

Minimum Qualifications

**How will you make a difference?**
As a member of the Programming Center of Excellence, you will be required to use a mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge to implement machining processes as well as a developed and strong foundation of functional skills and knowledge of relevant techniques. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, drive process adherence, and develop and execute objectives for yourself and others. As a Leader in manufacturing, you will handle day-to-day activities in which you will provide directions to accomplish operational objectives as well as timekeeping, maintaining schedules and leading the hourly workforce.

+ Capable of performing journeyman level machinist assignments

**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB level
+ Specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done
+ Deliver products as part of a team and work on cross functional teams alternatively: leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods
+ Able to develop complex programs on Okuma, Mazaks and other 3 and 5 axis machines
+ Proficient in CNC code, alarms, process problem solving and troubleshooting skills
+ Ability to implement new machining processes
+ Help train and develop technical skills of Operations employees; educate employees on business strategy and metrics
+ Actively participate in Environment, Health and Safety initiatives and corrective actions as an expert in the safety aspects of the Operations team's scope
+ Support and meet production schedules, drive productivity and quality initiatives, and manage the area within budget; utilize data analysis to identify and execute improvement projects
+ Interface with internal and external customers, define priorities for shifts and work groups leveraging shift start-up / shift-change meetings
+ Manage employees and schedule requirements, including timekeeping, overtime, time off, and discipline
+ Communicate and enforce safety policies, the employee handbook and other plant policies
+ Actively participate on cross-functional teams and demonstrate necessary leadership and coaching skills to other team members

Heidtman Tubular Products, a Heidtman Steel company, is seeking dedicated and experienced production workers to join our team in Erie, MI as we look into adding a 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM). We are looking for individuals who are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and efficiency in our production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift and overhead crane to move, load, unload, and store finished goods and in-process materials.
- Verify and properly identify materials to ensure accuracy in production.
- Manage the storage and offline readiness of banding materials and tags for bundles.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure the quality of products being produced for inventory.
- Actively participate in change-overs and set up bundles according to packaging requirements.
- Communicate effectively with the Mill Operator regarding product quality.
- Engage in active participation during breakdowns and bottlenecks to maintain production flow.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
