As a Melt Operator , you will be responsible for critical functions within our melting operation. This hands-on role involves transporting materials, operating furnace charging equipment, and learning to operate our melting furnaces safely and effectively.

• A  high school diploma or GED   (we can help through the GEDWorks program).
• Prior experience working with industrial manufacturing environments. A plus if you've worked in a melt department or with large furnaces.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of production, production level preventative maintenance, production quality, Safety, production cost control and other related activities. The Production Manager must carry management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

     • Ability to work in a normal bakery atmosphere and the situations it may expose such as loud noises, strong smells, and dust/flour.
     • Able to hear; must be alert to sounds of machinery malfunctions; hear alarms and emergency announcements.

     • Ability to work well with all levels of management, peers, and subordinates.
     • Ability to effectively function in pressure situations.
     
     
     Working conditions:
     
     FDA-classified "major allergens" are processed in our facilities, including: milk/cream, eggs, wheat, soy, tree nuts, sesame seeds. Incumbent must be able to work in an environment with changing temperatures from 50 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Incumbents may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, loud equipment and machines, and other environmental hazards associated with a food production and warehouse facility.
