The Production Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing process. This involves inspecting materials and products, identifying and addressing quality issues, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and the ability to operate basic production equipment.
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
+ Perform material inspection and sorting, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
+ Conduct in-process and final inspections, utilizing appropriate measuring tools and techniques to verify product conformance.
+ Accurately record inspection data and maintain detailed quality logs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
+ Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action investigations, contributing to the resolution of quality issues.
+ Collaborate with production personnel to ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles and safety protocols.

Qualifications

**Production Planner/Scheduler**
**MISSION / SUMMARY:**
Schedules and coordinates flow of work within or between departments of plant to expedite production. Reviews master production schedule and work orders, establishes priorities for specific customer orders, and revises schedule according to work order specifications, establishes priorities, and evaluate availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment. Follow's the plant's product safety programs (HACCP, SQF, Food Defense, etc.) and Lean initiatives.
**JOB FUNCTIONS:** _Job functions include but are not limited to the following_ _._
+ Manages daily production needs for the equipment over a 24-48-hour period.
+ Creates and maintains daily schedule to balance efficiencies and customer needs.
+ Schedules accordingly to corporate guidelines and inventory goals.
+ Maintains work in process (WIP) inventories to maintain a minimum inventory level.
+ Monitors slow moving material.
+ Requisitions raw paperboard and pallets.
+ Maintains raw material inventories to maximize inventory turns and remain operational.
+ Ensures scheduling meets shipping commitments to all customers.
+ Advises customer service of any unplanned delays in shipping commitments.
+ Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work, to provide information on scheduling changes, and to schedule preventative maintenance on equipment.
+ Reviews and communicates production commitments to shipping.
+ Researches, complies, and prepares reports as directed.
+ Ensures plant's compliance to 3rd party Functional Control / Pre-Requisite program requirements including HACCP, SQF, and other customer-mandated programs.
+ Conducts annual training in HACCP, GMP's, Food defense, and Allergens.
+ Provides support in the plant's Lean activities.
+ Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International's good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.
**EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Familiar with AIB / HACCP / SQF compliance standards
+ Familiar with Food defense compliance standards
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet research skills
+ Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors
**SCHEDULE DEMANDS:**
+ General schedule is a 9-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedule; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
+ Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, or riding.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
+ Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 9-hours.
+ Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting required.
+ Simple and power grasping with both right and left hands is required.
+ Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.
+ Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
+ Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

Job Description
May perform one or more of the following for high-end equipment (Segment 5+): roll-fed press operation, copier operation, bindery, fulfillment, quality control, final check, pickup/delivery, facility maintenance, and mailroom duties. This is an allocated position that exists only when business needs warrant it and must be approved by the Regional Director of Services. The position reports directly to the Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Assistant Site Manager, depending on site personnel configuration.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Follow Ricoh Service Excellence performance requirements.
+ Responsible for functions including copy and mail center services, convenience copier fleet management, and various support services.
+ Operate and maintain high-end production equipment, such as roll-fed continuous production systems.
+ Set up, calibrate, and ensure optimal performance of equipment.
+ Ensure customer satisfaction by preparing, inspecting, compiling, and assembling projects accurately and on time.
+ Meet deadlines by working efficiently while maintaining quality and error-free output.
+ Achieve Time Productive statistics by meeting facility standards.
+ Maintain all required reporting tools.
+ Calibrate equipment to produce consistent color and quality matching originals.
+ Transfer files electronically from the network to color equipment.
+ Produce error-free work by demonstrating operational knowledge of duplication equipment.
+ Maximize print performance by multitasking on print equipment.
+ Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
+ Maintain machine performance by resolving simple issues (e.g., clearing jams, refilling toner, replacing oil) and understanding machine codes.
+ Present a professional appearance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
+ Maintain and order equipment parts inventory per company guidelines.
+ Meet attendance standards by being punctual and working scheduled hours and required overtime.
+ Organize jobs by validating job name/number and reading instructions on the Job Request Form.
+ Perform a full range of service procedures including diagnostics, installation, removal, and retrofits on complex office products.
+ Demonstrate required digital competencies for assigned products and levels.
+ Troubleshoot and repair or replace equipment components as needed.
+ Complete technical training on new equipment as assigned.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)**
**Typically Required:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
+ Preferred: 3 years of experience in a roll-fed printing environment.
+ Technical aptitude to learn setup and operation (including software controls) of complex printing equipment.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
+ Excellent customer service skills.
+ Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
+ Ability to use, calibrate, and troubleshoot office and complex technical equipment.
**Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands**
+ Typically an office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature/noise levels.
+ Diverse work assignments requiring interpretation, comprehension, and application of complex material and data.
+ Some physical effort required: walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
