Job Family DefinitionResponsible for managing commodities/categories worldwide, including goods and services that support the company and its customers. Includes setting category strategies; supply base development to meet the company and customer requirements; and supplier contracting and negotiations; supplier qualification; and establishing quality processes / resolving quality issues. Description
The Production Painter will operate a powder gun, conventional spray gun or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Pretreats metal products and monitors pH levels to ensure desired results. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. May paint items by hand as needed. May be required to serve as backup for other positions as directed.
General Responsibilities:

Ensure safe working environment

Prepare surface of components and large weldments to be powder coated or painted by removing burrs, slag, rust, and scale
-
Hang parts from racks, blasts, washes, dries parts, and applies an even coating of powder and/or liquid paint to meet Customer standards

Perform quality inspections of parts to produce products that exceed customer's expectations

Confers with Engineering, Supervisory and Manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information

Work from work orders, verbal and written instruction, routing, samples, blueprints

Complete all required shop paperwork accurately and neatly

Follow instructions and document operations as required

Maintain good housekeeping in work area

Implement Lean manufacturing practices where applicable
Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required; two years of manufacturing experience is preferred

Training generally applicable to manufacturing methods and techniques

1+ year of production painting

Possess some computer skills and can learn new skills as needed
