Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Design and review civil plans for telecommunications infrastructure such as underground conduit, manholes, aerial pole routes, and equipment pads.
  • Provide engineering approval (PE stamp) for plans, drawings, and permit submissions as required by regulatory authorities.
  • Perform structural analysis for utility poles, foundations, and supporting infrastructure for telecom and wireless equipment ensuring applicable codes (e.g., TIA-222 for towers, local building codes).
  • Collaborate with permitting agencies, zoning boards, and utility companies to ensure designs comply with applicable codes and right-of-way requirements.

  • Oversee vendor and subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to engineering requirements and quality standards.
  • Support the permitting team with technical clarification on active submissions. Maintain project records, calculations, and drawing logs for compliance.
  • Provide weekly status updates to engineering leadership. Monitor and address any bottlenecks in permit design cycles
  • Support budgeting and cost analysis for civil components of telecom projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of telecom infrastructure trends, local ordinances, and emerging technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Active Civil Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of employment (Florida preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years of civil engineering experience, with at least 3 years in telecommunications or utility design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and design tools for fiber and utility infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred Qualifications:

**A Brief Summary of This Position:**

  • Collaborate with traffic engineers, structural engineers, and other specialty disciplines to deliver a comprehensive package of reports, studies, and drawings to our clients.
  • Operate CAD (MicroStation/OpenRoads) to effectively produce alignments, models, and plans of transportation projects using current standards.
  • Work in a team setting, reporting to and taking direction from a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Analyze engineering data and utilize sound engineering judgement to produce final engineering documents including project plans, opinions of probable construction cost, construction drawings, technical specifications, studies, feasibility analyses, technical memoranda, and preliminary engineering reports.
  • Mentor younger/junior staff such as EIT's, drafters, and designers.

Engineering of Mission Viejo, CA is seeking to hire a licensed Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer to be a full-time Project Manager / Professional Engineer and oversee various structural engineering projects. This position oversees a team of one to three staff members and ensures that projects are completed in a timely manner. The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm . Project Managers / Professional Engineers earn a competitive salary of $80,000-$20,000/year based on experience. You produce structural analysis, designs, calculations, and details in an accurate and timely manner. Your understanding of contractual language assists you as you review project contracts, change orders, scopes of work, and other contract documents. With your strong communication skills, you develop and foster successful relationships with clients and strive for client satisfaction every time. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering with a Structural or Civil emphasis Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of California - Civil or Structural 5+ years of structural engineering design experience Management experience Experience performing structural engineering calculations for residential, commercial, education, and/or solar AutoCAD 2015 (or newer) 2D experience Working knowledge of Enercalc and RISA Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Adobe Are you a leader?
