BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:
The P SD DEMAND RESPONSE Department of the P CUSTOMER ENERGY RESOURCES OPERATIONS Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Management vacancy available. (Role: Professional)
JOB FUNCTION:
Serves as a resource for the information technology (IT) infrastructure required to implement and support Demand Response (DR) and Distributed Energy Programs (DER) programs defined as Customer Energy Resources (CER) initiatives. Acts as a primary interface with aggregators and service provider for Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) integration support and maintenance. Provides technical and processing assistance to Program Managers and customers. Stays current on CER products and systems and works with industry representatives to understand the most recent advances in technology to support programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Manages, implements, tests, and monitors CER applications and infrastructure (e.g. DERMS, CBRE and CIT), including integration with third parties and customer field devices, to maintain support for existing CER programs and to support the deployment of new programs. Conducts technical studies, evaluations, technical planning and engineering support in the development of CER programs for the Hawaiian Electric Companies.
+ Evaluates technical pilot opportunities. Manages technical pilots and develops performance metrics and evaluation for pilot success utilizing engineering models, databases, simulation models and tracking systems. Researches and assesses CER measures and products.
+ Administers contracts with engineering consultants and vendors in support of CER programs and carries out project scheduling, budget preparation, tracking and maintenance. Oversees work of outside consultants and contractors and is the front-line interface with customers. Prepares and evaluates Request for Proposals for consultant services in connection with CER operations activities and program implementation.
+ Supports Regulatory filings related to CER programs and CER operations as required, including rate cases.
+ Provides consultation services and site and field surveys for residential, commercial and industrial customers' facilities. Makes on-site customer visits to collect data.
+ Participates in Company emergency response activities as assigned, including any activities required to prepare for such emergency response.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge Requirements
+ Engineering or Computer Science degree (Bachelor of Science or Master of Science) from an ABET-accredited college or university is required; and/or direct experience in utility grid operations and/or supporting infrastructure. Specific experience in DR/DER management systems is highly desired.
+ Demonstrates detailed knowledge of the application of engineering theories and principles that are pertinent to the Job Responsibilities. This includes detailed knowledge of utility operations and/or DR/DER operations IT infrastructure, control systems, data acquisition, interval meters, and remote communications.
+ Working knowledge and/or course work in utility operations or business systems. Working knowledge of DR/DER operations and programs.
+ Detailed knowledge of personal computers and standard software applications such as Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel, and MS Access.
Skills Requirements
+ Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license. Must meet the standards for driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Driving Positions policy. These standards may be adjusted periodically to meet business and safety objectives.
+ Must be a self-starter with a clear ability to research, plan, organize, execute and report on work with little supervision.

+ Previous hands-on experience managing projects and infrastructure. Experience with IT projects is preferred; including initial implementation, upgrades, testing, and release to operations.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $120,000- to $160,000. Compensation depends on several factors including experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.

**Facilities Planning and Development:**
+ Develop the Facility Section SOW
**Coordinate the Installation Bid Package:**
+ Obtaining all SOWs from functional leads to compile into an overall bid package
+ Coordination of the Detailed Equipment Descriptions
+ Collaborate with Purchasing to determine contractor bid list
+ Generate and track Purchase Order to release date per the Master Schedule

**What you'll do:**
**Collaborate frequently with internal and external stakeholders on matters such as:**
Structural Steel **|** Truss Reinforcing | Column Changes **|** Tool Support | Concrete **|** Main Equipment Pits (Rolls Test, Alignment, Engine Decking Loop, Operator, Conveyor) **|** Squeak and Rattle Track
Frequent Work With:
**Mechanical Systems:** HVAC **|** Pumps **|** Compressed Air piping (headers, equipment connections) **|** Fire Protection and Alarm modifications **|** Fuel and Tank Farm modifications **|** Nitrogen Systems **|** AC, Radiator, and Brake Fill infrastructure systems.
**Electrical Work:** Identify infrastructure modifications, design, and distribution.
**Facilities Implementation:**
+ Support facility layout development, including engineering input, field checks and coordination with key stake-holders
+ Lead development of on-site construction facilities plan and layout; e.g., Contractor offices and storage requirements, utility tie-ins and capacity, Ford personnel on-site support facilities, Contractor lay down areas, etc.
+ Lead development of special safety, environmental and/or emergency response requirements
+ Support receipt of all applicable implementation permits and related documentation prior to commencing work; e.g., environmental permits, local building permits, insurance certificates, etc.
+ Support submittal of applicable implementation labor agreements and related documentation prior to commencing work; e.g., local and national maintenance agreements, labor clearances, etc.
+ Lead project close-out process, including verification and storage of as-built documentation, receipt and storage of maintenance documents and spare parts recommendations, buy-off book(s) and related documentation, etc.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Mechanical)
+ 3+ years of experience performing mechanical system engineering analysis, layout and detail design of conveyance/ automation systems, tool related utility services and general building facilities typically used in manufacturing/assembly facilities; automotive assembly/stamping plant experience preferred
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Ability to travel and remain on site as install/launch team member at all Ford North America plants; i.e., USA, Canada and Mexico
+ Basic working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles as applied to manufacturing/assembly plants, including development of performance/compliance metrics
+ Basic working knowledge of discreet event simulation as applied to manufacturing/assembly plants with emphasis on providing proper input data and interpreting simulation results
+ Advanced working knowledge of Auto CAD software for plant layout
+ Basic working knowledge of MS Office software applications.
+ Basic working knowledge of MS Project planning software for execution of manufacturing equipment and building system projects
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to work independently, in a team environment, with minimal supervision
+ Cost estimating experience
+ PMP Certification
