PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide mentorship and engage youth members in activities and programs, which enables them to develop self-confidence and reach their full potential as productive, responsible, caring citizens. The work of a ski program support includes fitting participants with ski and snowboarding equipment and supplies, providing them with initial skiing and snowboarding information and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a professional setting
- Prior ski area experience is a plus
- A positive attitude and a strong desire to work with children
- Prior documented experience with children is a plus
- Ability to take direction as well as clearly communicate with others
- Works on ski, snowboard, and Nordic equipment following the requirements of the manufacturer
- Operate drills, torque testers, waxer, and other ski equipment
- Able to sort and provision jackets, pants, gloves, and helmets for participants
- Inspects, records, reports, and monitors conditions of all equipment
- Keeps detailed records of tests performed, adjustments made, and training given
- Adjusts and tests equipment for proper use
- Standing for long periods of time and ability to work effectively in extreme cold and/or other inclement weather conditions
