We are seeking a Technical Sales Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire sales process-from the quote request to securing the subcontract. This position requires a person that has excellent communication skills, great attention to detail, time management skills and personal accountability to meet tight deadlines.

Position Overview: The Technical Sales rep will be responsible for reviewing blueprints with our engineering team, using a CPQ software to estimate job costs, securing quotes from vendors, creating a professional proposal, managing tasks in our CRM, communicating with our clients, following up on quotes, reviewing and processing subcontracts. This role will collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate and competitive estimates that meet project requirements and deadlines.

This exempt position typically requires 40 - 50 hours a week with standard operating hours falling between 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday and is critical to the success and growth of the company. This position will report to the Supervisor of Sales and Estimation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Occasionally conduct on-site visits and inspections to gather information necessary for estimating purposes.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs, utilizing estimating software and databases.
  • Assisting in the preparation of bid packages, including compiling all necessary documentation, completing bid forms, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules based on estimated costs and timelines.
  • Manage tasks and sales documents in CRM.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project estimates to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends, construction methods, materials, and pricing to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimating practices.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the sales team in creating a client support network internally and externally that meets and exceeds the Company's sales objectives.

Pay Range:

• Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 76,600.00 - Max Salary $ 111,000.00

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. The Project Estimator will be responsible for cost management, construction estimating, communication, project estimation, and budgeting. They will collaborate with various teams to accurately estimate project costs and ensure successful project completion.

Qualifications

  • Must have 10 years plus Estimating in Water, Sewer, and Storm Drain for private and public entities.
  • Cost Management, Budgeting, and Project Estimation skills
  • Construction Estimating expertise
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical data
