Public Works, at the direction of CEO, is seeking experienced Project Managers (Levels I, II, and/or III) for a period of 2 years stationed at CEO's office to assist with DOJ compliance.
Candidates are required to have at least 5 years (PMI), 10 years (PMII) or 15 years (PMIII) of progressive experience in managing building projects through planning, design, jurisdictional approvals, construction, and close-out.
Candidates are required to possess the following:
- Minimum 5 years (PMI), 10 years (PMII) or 15 years of project management and concurrent field construction experience.
- Project Management Certification
- Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead, supervise, and mentor project teams, including sub-consultant personnel.
+ Review and monitor project progress to ensure deliverables meet clearly defined criteria that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely (SMART).
+ Interpret and apply Caltrans standards and manuals to project deliverables, including plans, designs, specifications, reports, graphics, simulations, and technical documentation.
+ Develop and maintain project schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM), Bar Charts, Logic Networks, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
+ Create and update monthly work plans outlining tasks, budgets, milestones, and target completion dates.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (experience may substitute in some cases).
+ Minimum of 25 years of professional experience, with at least:
+ 10 years on Caltrans infrastructure projects
+ 20 years managing large-scale infrastructure projects (highways, bridges, etc.)
+ California PE license preferred but not required.
**Technical Requirements:**
+ Strong working knowledge of Caltrans manuals, including:
+ Construction Manual
+ Bridge Construction Records and Procedures Manual
+ Standard Test Methods
+ Manual of Traffic Controls for Construction and Maintenance Work Zones
+ Standard Specifications and Plans

Role accountabilities:
- Reviews pre-construction documents and submits comments to Designer as necessary

- Receives, reviews, and negotiates Contractor Change Order Proposal(s) to achieve a fair & reasonable price in accordance with the General Conditions; reviews and addresses any and all Schedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely manner
- Reviews the process and monitors payments for the contractor, architects, engineers and any other pertinent parties
- Administers provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the District
- Coordinates District delivery of related fixtures, furniture and equipment
- Monitors and manages project close-out with respect to project certification with the Division of State Architects (DSA) and project financial close out
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
- Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential may be substituted for the required education
