Job Description

Job Description

Job Description

Salary: $80K-$00K

About Us

At Sea Pointe Design & Remodel, weve been helping Orange County homeowners fall in love with their homes again for nearly 40 years. Were a design-build team meaning designers, planners, and builders all work under one roof, collaborating from the first sketch to the final nail.

We believe remodeling should be exciting, not stressful, and that starts with building a strong, supportive team. Our values Passion, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence guide not only the work we do, but also how we treat one another.

The Role

Were looking for a Construction Project Planner & Estimator who brings hands-on construction experience together with a knack for numbers, organization, and technology.

If youve spent time in the field swinging a hammer, running crews, or managing remodels and you also enjoy putting the puzzle pieces together on budgets, plans, and materials this role may be the perfect next step.

Youll take your knowledge of how projectsreally get built and translate it into accurate budgets and detailed project plans that set our team (and clients) up for success.

A Day in the Life

No two days are the same, but heres what a typical one might look like:

  • Morning Head to a jobsite with the designer and project manager to walk through a kitchen remodel in planning. You notice a tricky load-bearing wall and factor that into your notes for the estimate.
  • Late Morning Back in the office, you run quantity take-offs for cabinetry and finishes, checking vendor pricing and updating the project budget spreadsheet.
  • Afternoon Meet with the design team to review a new bath remodel concept. The client wants high-end fixtures, so you advise on budget ranges and note which trade partners to involve early.
  • End of Day Pull together a clear, client-ready estimate and draft a scope of work for subcontractors. Before heading out, you update a pricing database to reflect a recent increase in lumber costs.

Its a role where yourfield experience meets office precision, and your work directly impacts how smoothly projects run.

What Youll Do

  • Break down remodeling projects (kitchens, baths, additions, whole homes) into clear, accurate cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and confirm pricing with trade partners and suppliers.
  • Visit jobsites to understand logistics, constraints, and opportunities before numbers are finalized.
  • Work closely with our designers and project managers to make sure designs line up with realistic budgets.
  • Create contracts, scopes of work, and purchase orders that are clear, thorough, and accurate.
  • Keep pricing databases current for labor, materials, and trades.
  • Look for ways to make our estimating process faster, cleaner, and more consistent.

What Were Looking For

  • Solid construction experience ideally 5+ years in the field working on residential remodels.
  • Some estimating experience OR a strong interest in moving into an estimating/planning role.
  • Comfort with computers (MS Excel a must; BuilderTrend experience a plus).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills you enjoy figuring out the details.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects on deadlines.
  • A good communicator who can work with designers, project managers, trades, and clients.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: 80K 100K (DOE)
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Paid time off & holidays
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Stable, supportive company culture with growth opportunities

Who Thrives Here

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has been in the trenches of remodeling and wants to use that knowledge in a more office-based role.
  • Enjoys the challenge of accuracy putting numbers and details together like a puzzle.
  • Values being part of a team-first culture where collaboration matters more than ego.
  • Wants to keep one foot in construction while moving into a career path with long-term stability and growth.
