**The Role**
Routine responsibilities will include preparation and review of journal entries, oversight of accounting for construction and renovation projects, balance sheet account reconciliations, cost segregations, financial statement analytics, and accumulation of details utilized to compile the quarterly statement of cash flows and footnote disclosures. In the undertaking of these tasks, the Senior Accountant - Real Estate will be expected to ensure the quality of work delivered by the team's Staff Accountants and assist their supervisor(s) to foster the Staff Accountants' career development. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the enhancement of internal controls and participating in special projects that improve or streamline accounting processes.
+ Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, cost segregations, analytics, and other requested details used for financial reporting.
+ Preparation of construction project draws for supervisory review and approval.
+ Review journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics, and other work assigned to and prepared by staff accountants.
+ Accumulate support and compile quarterly project accruals for supervisory review.
+ Global fixed asset maintenance, including fixed asset additions, transfers, retirements, and depreciation for owned/leased properties.
+ Fielding and resolving inquiries from management, other departments within Hyatt, and external auditors.
+ Monitor project costs against budgets and report on monthly project spend.
+ Contribute to and enhance compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including documentation of process areas and testing of key controls.
+ Consolidation of North American and International wholly owned legal entities based on financial statements prepared by 3rd party accountants.
+ Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures and special projects, as required.
+ Preparation of quarterly and annual external reporting schedules, such as those related to cash flows and footnotes.
+ Assistance with the preparation and audit review of certain real estate entities, in accordance with the statutory requirements of the respective entities.

+ BA/BS degree in Business Administration or Accounting required.
+ A minimum of 1 to 3 years of accounting experience required. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience strongly preferred. Previous accounting experience in commercial real estate settings or related industries preferred.
+ Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel required.
+ Proven organizational skills with ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
+ Self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to interact with co-workers, clients, or vendors in an articulate, courteous, and professional manner at all times.
+ Leadership abilities.
