The team at MCG approaches every assignment with the unique perspective of a true overall capital advisor. A broad-based knowledge of the real estate capital markets, combined with its deep understanding and relationships within the Florida real estate and financial services industries, provides its clients with comprehensive advice and guidance on an ongoing basis.
Your potential manager, Gene DeRose, is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Madison Capital Group. Gene oversees all aspects of MCG’s operations, supporting the team of executives and directors who manage client relationships and seek debt and equity investors and financing for clients’ commercial real estate initiatives across their diverse portfolio of real estate and private equity investments. Gene reports directly to Tim Martorella, MCG’s founder and Managing Partner. The management team and staff collaborate frequently on all aspects of the company’s business.
Now, Gene and his team are seeking a Business Assistant with a strong desire to excel in commercial real estate and a willingness to contribute to various areas of the business. If you’re eager to learn, detail-oriented, and adaptable, this is the opportunity for you!
What you will be doing:As this is a junior role, we don’t expect you to have experience in the tasks mentioned below or to handle them entirely on your own - you’ll be helping the team under direction and supervision. However, to give you an idea of potential tasks depending on your skills and progress, here are some examples:
Support the team throughout the entire process of marketing, securing, executing, and closing deals in commercial real estate financing-related client work.
Create and edit supporting materials: offering presentations, supporting exhibits, financial models, and help distribute and market these to potential clients and investors.
Support the team with prospect sourcing, cold calls, email campaigns, and social media B2B tasks.
Assist with transcribing, content creation, and managing marketing collateral.
Conduct research and update databases related to real estate, finance transactions, developers, and investors, with a focus on Florida and U.S.-based markets.
Prepare offering memorandums for real estate finance transactions and related exhibits in PowerPoint and Excel (experience with Keynote for Mac is also useful).
Work with financial and underwriting models in Excel (if you have advanced skills in developing financial models).
Proactively contribute ideas to improve processes and handle tasks independently.
Advanced level of English; excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. As some of the research tasks may involve calls, we expect you to be confident in your English communication.
Ability to analyze, structure, and work with financial data to draw conclusions.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools.
Awareness of financial statements.
Excellent attention to detail – you should be the person who cares about every small detail while working with numbers.
Adaptability & intelligence - you’ll need to quickly adapt to working with various digital tools and new information.
You are resilient, smart, outgoing, optimistic, and committed to success - the company is proud of the environment and culture they have created and would like a junior specialist to share these expectations.
Proactiveness with a leadership mentality - we expect you to be a person with many ideas, not just an executor.
Willingness to handle a variety of tasks, whether it’s creating slides, doing analytics, conducting research, managing databases, helping with marketing, or anything else.
Familiarity with MS 365, Outlook, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Slack, or AI tools.
Understanding and interest in the commercial real estate industry.
Previous work experience within the fields of real estate, finance, analytics, or investment banking.
You’ll need to adjust your schedule to have as much overlap with the team as possible. Ideally, from 9 am to 5 pm Florida time (EST) , however, we’re open to partial overlap, so candidates located in Eastern Europe are also welcome to apply.
What we offer:Full-time job (8 working hours per day, Mon-Fri). For this vacancy, we consider only senior last-year students and recent graduates. We will not consider candidates planning to combine several jobs.
Remote work. You may be located in almost any country or city – you just need a good internet connection, a computer to work from, and the ability to adjust your working schedule to the team.
While your initial tasks will focus on administrative and marketing duties, there is potential to take on more financial modeling responsibilities within 1-1.5 years if you’d like, or to pursue a sales/marketing career path as well.
Work closely with the COO and a talented team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Stability - this is not an internship or project work. We consider only candidates looking for a long-term commitment of 1.5+ years.
