Job Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Propulsion Engineer to support the United States Air Force for the Sentinel weapon system, the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
The Propulsion Engineer will provide technical expertise and independent assessments of Post-Boost Vehicle (PBV) propulsion systems. The role requires in-depth knowledge of propulsion design, integration, and test activities to support the government customer in ensuring system performance, mission assurance, and compliance with program objectives.
**Primary Duties:**
+ Provide subject matter expertise on Post-Boost Vehicle propulsion systems to support government program office decision-making.
+ Review contractor technical deliverables, analyses, and test data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements.
+ Conduct independent assessments and trade studies to inform government risk management and design decisions.
+ Support system-level integration by evaluating propulsion interfaces with guidance, thermal, structural, and avionics subsystems.

+ Track propulsion system performance, anomalies, and corrective actions across development, integration, and test phases.
+ Contribute to requirements verification planning and assessment for propulsion-related specifications.
+ Collaborate with government and contractor teams to ensure propulsion design aligns with program objectives, cost, schedule, and mission assurance goals.
**Qualifications**
+ Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline with **10+ years** of relevant propulsion experience; **or**
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline with **12+ years** of relevant propulsion experience.
+ Strong background in liquid or solid propulsion systems, including design, analysis, integration, or testing.
+ Familiarity with ICBM, missile defense, or space vehicle propulsion systems.
+ Experience supporting government acquisition programs, including contractor oversight and technical evaluation.
+ Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
+ Knowledge of DoD and Air Force acquisition processes.
+ Solid understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles.
