Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer to join their innovative team. This role is entirely remote, providing the flexibility to work from any location within the US while contributing to groundbreaking aerospace projects. You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and integration of advanced propulsion systems. This position demands a strong theoretical background, practical engineering expertise, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and analysis of rocket and spacecraft propulsion systems, including liquid, solid, and electric propulsion technologies.
  • Perform detailed performance analysis, thermodynamic calculations, and structural integrity assessments for propulsion components and integrated systems.
  • Develop system requirements, specifications, and interface control documents.
  • Oversee and contribute to the manufacturing, assembly, and integration of propulsion hardware.
  • Plan and execute rigorous testing procedures for propulsion systems and components, including static fire tests and environmental tests.
  • Analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including structures, thermal, avionics, and guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) engineers.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices and technical standards within the propulsion engineering discipline.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in propulsion systems.

Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in propulsion.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the design, analysis, and testing of aerospace propulsion systems.
  • Deep understanding of rocket engine cycles, combustion phenomena, propellant management, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in using engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, PROPEP, RPA, or similar.
  • Experience with CFD and FEA simulations related to propulsion systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices in aerospace propulsion.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Must be a US citizen or possess a current work authorization.
