Responsibilities

Leads the planning and execution of logistics for protective services (PS) movements, events, and related security operations, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.

Manages and optimizes scheduling support for PS-related functions, including briefings, scouting/advance work, and team deployments, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.

Serves as one of the primary liaisons between executive assistants/staff, PS team leaders, travel teams and third-party security vendors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.

Tracks and manages invoicing, purchase orders, and other administrative functions tied to PS operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgetary guidelines, policies and procedures.

Manages the documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping for executive travel and security activity, ensuring thorough and accurate records.

Assists the PS senior manager, principal manager, and team leaders with overflow risk assessments, program updates, operational coordination, and ad hoc tasks, providing high-level support and insights.

Maintains and optimizes internal calendars and tracking tools to ensure alignment across security and executive schedules, improving overall efficiency.

Monitors and follows up on outstanding tasks, deliverables, and support requests tied to PS efforts, ensuring timely completion and accountability.

Ensures compliance with internal protocols, confidentiality expectations, and security guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of security and discretion.

Minimum Qualifications

Responsibilities - What you'll do
- Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
- Conduct home visits to observe surroundings, and interview victims and caregivers.
- Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
- Be available to be in an on call rotation with other members of your team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High level communication and interviewing skills.
- Able to work independently and show initiative within a team environment.
- Able to be resilient, think critically, and be innovative.
- Bachelor's degree (relevant experience such as LPN, RN, or social service supports, etc. experience may be substituted for each year of required education).
- For the APS Specialist II position, one or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or other related human services field.

The mission of this program is to detect, prevent, reduce and eliminate abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment of adults who are living with disabilities.
Key responsibilities
As a Protective Services Case Worker, you will focus on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of others.
Each day you will travel throughout the region and conduct investigations in residences. You will interview individuals to determine if reports of need are substantiated, then document your findings, develop service plans, and manage cases through to closure.
This position will travel regularly throughout Wayne & Pike Counties.
This is very important work that leads to a high degree of job satisfaction though serving and protecting others.
What can I expect in this role?
Starting pay is approximately $48,000 (paid $23.08 per hour) with opportunities to earn additional income by working optional overtime and taking on additional cases.
You will earn 30 days of paid time off annually which you may use for holidays, vacation, personal time, and sick leave. Other benefits are also offered. Adult protective services training is provided to new hires.
You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy in this role with some flexibility in your work schedule and occasional work into the evenings.

Skills & Requirements
Do I qualify for this position?
Liberty considers both experienced human services professionals and entry level applicants.
A bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice or another human services field is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience in any of these areas:
- Service Coordinator, Supports Coordinator, Program Specialist or Case Manger roles
- Child, Family and Youth Services or Older Adult Protective Services
- Behavioral / mental health or developmental disabilities services
- Law enforcement
- Field-based healthcare or human services roles
Since you will be required to travel locally and regionally, you must have your own vehicle. Work-related mileage and toll expenses are reimbursed.

Individuals will conduct the initial investigation of adults reported to be victims of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or exploitation.
Duties Include:
- Working closely with other social service organizations and referring parties
- Determining the risk to person referred and establish plans for eliminating risk to the persons served
- Developing appropriate service plans
- Arranging for the provision of needed service to clients during the APS investigation phase
- Must have a BA in a related social service field
- Knowledge of community resources and previous work with probate court and guardianship services preferred.
